Smoke rises on the skyline after an explosion in Tehran, Iran, Saturday, Feb 28.

Israel launched a preemptive strike on Iran on Saturday, Defence Minister Israel Katz announced, adding that sirens have been sounded in key Israeli cities.

IDF Home Command has warned civilians to stay close to bomb shelters and prohibited non-essentials travel. The message says that “due to the security situation,” civilians should ensure they know what the optimal protected shelter near them is and avoid non-essentials travel.
