*Notorious Drug peddler arrested with he**in by Police in Udhampur*

Police team from Police Post Roundomail led by its ICPP while performing routine vehicle checking duty at naka point Roundomail apprehended one suspicious person, who on spoting police team tried to hide himself which created suspicion.

Upon conducting his thorough frisking, police team recovered 3.68 grams of he**in (chitta) like Contraband substance from the possession of the above apprehended person namely Rakesh Kumar S/O Yash Paul R/O Ossu Pakhlai A/P Sambal Udhampur.
On this, a case vide FIR No. 197/2025 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act stands registered in P/S Udhampur and further investigation was set into probe.

*Police Nab Drug Peddler with Narcotics in Jhajjar Kotli.*

In a significant development in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking, a police team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli apprehended one individual in possession of a narcotic substance.

The accused, identified as *Aman Singh Thakur,* son of Dev Raj and a resident of Ward No. 2, Chaneni, Udhampur, was intercepted during routine checking. Upon search, *2.3 grams of a he**in* like substance was recovered from his possession.

Following the recovery, a case has been registered under *FIR No.73/2025 at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.* Further investigation is currently underway.

The police have reiterated their commitment to eradicating the drug menace and have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

*Bovine Smuggling Attempt Foiled – 02 Bovines Rescued, Accused Arrested, vehicle seized by Udhampur Police*

Police team of PP Roundomail led by its ICPP ntercepted a Tata Yodha (JK14J/0739) at a special naka near Jaganoo Bridge and found 02 bovines being transported illegally in a cruel manner without valid documents.

Accused driver Zunaid Ahmed S/O Mohd. Munshi R/O Thill Roun was arrested on the spot. Vehicle seized, bovines rescued safely.

FIR No. 195/2025 U/S 223 BNS & 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Udhampur.

Tehsildar Udhampur flags off Mata Kheer Bhawani Yatra

UDHAMPUR, JUNE-01: Tehsildar Udhampur Jai Singh, today flagged off a batch of 18 pilgrims for the Kheer Bhawani Yatra 2025 to the Kashmir Valley. The event took place at the DC Office Complex in Udhampur.

The pilgrims, travelling in one J&K RTC bus, embarked on their spiritual journey amidst an atmosphere of reverence and enthusiasm.

Tehsildar also interacted with the pilgrims, extending his best wishes and urging them to pray for peace, prosperity and brotherhood in the District.

*100 Bottles of Illicit Liquor Seized, Bottlegger arrested by District Police Udhampur*

Police team of PP Roundomail led by its ICPP intercepted one person who is moving on a three wheeler (load carrier) bearing registration number JK14K-4589 near Tawi bridge Ritti. Upon noticing the police presence, Driver of the load carrier attempted to evade but was swiftly stopped and searched.

Upon frisking/searching, police recovered 100 bottles (180 ml each) of illicit liquor from the possession of driver namely Parkash Chnad S/O Shiv Ram R/O Panj Grian, Nagrota, Ramnagar who has been arrested on spot.

In this regard, a case under FIR No. 184/2025 U/S 48(a) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
Further investigation is underway.

Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has temporarily suspended mobile data services on 37 telecom towers in the Bhaderwah area of Doda district. The shutdown will remain in effect till May 27, 2025.

The order, issued under Government Order No: Home-12(TSTS) of 2025 and signed by Principal Secretary Chandraker Bharti, confirms earlier directions from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone.

These directions were issued under the Temporary Suspension of Telecommunication Service Rules, 2024, which allow the authorized officer to take immediate action in situations deemed sensitive to national security and public peace.

*Udhampur Police Crack e-FIR Case: Two Accused Held, Stolen Property Recovered*

On 19/05/2025, Police Station Majalta received a complaint via WhatsApp from Romesh Verma, JE PDD, Majalta, stating that a 25 KVA transformer installed at village Platter (Majalta) had been stolen during the intervening night of 17/18 May 2025. The estimated value of the stolen transformer was approximately ₹1.5 lakh.

In this regard, an e-FIR was registered at PS Majalta under relevant sections of law.

During the course of investigation, a number of suspects were rounded up by the police team of PS Majalta led by its SHO. Based on technical inputs and sustained questioning, two suspects confessed to their involvement in the theft and were arrested. The arrested accused have been identified as:

1. Gafoor Ali S/O Mohd Sadiq R/O Plater Dhamma, Tehsil Majalta, District Udhampur

2. Atter Singh S/O Shanker Singh R/O Garh Dhamma, Tehsil Majalta, District Udhampur

On their disclosure, the stolen 25 KVA transformer was also recovered by the police team.

*Udhampur Police Attaches drug property Worth Rs 1.50 Crores, belonging to Notorious Drug Peddler Mohd. Asif of Hartaryan, Udhampur*

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Udhampur Police has attached moveable property valued at Rs. 1.50 Crores belonging to a drug peddler U/S 68(F) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The accused namely Mohd Asif S/o Sanak Mohd R/o Village Hartayan Rehambal, District Udhampur is involved in FIR No. 14/25 under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Rehambal.

The properties attached include:

Truck bearing Reg. No. JK14J-6362

Truck bearing Reg. No. JK14J-8369

Truck bearing Reg. No. JK20C-4698

Bolero Car bearing Reg. No. JK14J-4983

The attachment order was officially passed today by the investigating officer, as part of the ongoing legal proceedings.

*Huge quantity of illegal liquor seized in Ramnagar. Inter-state bootlegger arrested by Udhampur Police*

Continuing its action against the social crimes, District Police Udhampur today on 20.05.2025 arrested one inter state bootlegger and recovered a huge quantity of illicit liquor from him.

Police team of PS Ramnagar led by its SHO while performing routine naka checking duty at near bus stand Ramnagar intercepted one vehicle (Ciaz Car) bearing registration number CH01CC 8684 for checking purposes. On checking of said vehicle, a huge quantity of illicit liquor 21 boxes (298 bottles of 750ml each) were recovered from the said vehicle and one inter-state bottlegger (driver) namely Mane Gopal Dada Bhau S/O Dada Bhau Mane R/O Pune A/P Chandigarh has been arrested on spot.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 64/2025 u/s 48 (a)Excise Act stands registered in Police Station Ramnagar and investigation taken up.

Police team from Police Station Udhampur led by its SHO while performing routine vehicle/Patrolling duty apprehended one suspicious person, who on spoting police team tried to hide himself from police team which created suspicion.

Upon conducting a thorough frisking, the police team recovered 11.29 grams of he**in (chitta) like Contraband substance from the possession of the above apprehended person namely Sanjay Sharma Bawa S/O Narinder Kumar R/O A/P Kaller, Udhampur who has been arrested on spot.

On this, a case vide FIR No. 167/2025 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act stands registered in P/S Udhampur and further investigation was set into probe.
