Ongoing construction work for the skywalk at Bhaley Dhunga, located in Devbhoomi Yangang, Sikkim. The Bhaley Dhunga Skywalk project is a state-of-the-art circular glass-bottom walkway, approximately 240 meters long, positioned at an altitude of 3,200 meters on the Bhaleydhunga peak. The project aims to boost eco-tourism and will be accessible via a 3.5 km ropeway from Yangang, South Sikkim.Project Features and Current StatusThe skywalk is designed to extend about 100 meters beyond the edge of the Bhaleydhunga cliff, supported by advanced steel girders and cables.The project includes basic facilities for visitors, such as a medical room, acclimatization hall, and operational offices, along with a funicular to transport visitors from the ropeway terminal to the skywalk itself.Construction work is visibly underway, as captured in the recent photograph showing a construction crane and ongoing structural work at the mountain peak (as seen in your attached image).The ropeway to Bhaleydhunga has been temporarily closed since January 2025 due to active construction operations.The foundation stone for the project was virtually laid by the Prime Minister, and the project is being promoted as India's first eco-tourism skywalk, offering panoramic Himalayan views and tourism opportunities.
