As a part of the month-long Engineers’ Day celebrations, and in commemoration of 50 Years of Sikkim’s Statehood as well as 40 Years of the formation of the All Sikkimese Diploma Engineers’ Association (ASDEA), the ASDEA is delighted to announce the Opening Ceremony of the Inter-Departmental Engineers’ Futsal Tournament 2025.

The inaugural program will be held on 22nd August 2025 (Friday) at 2:00 PM at GMC Sports Arena, Gangtok, and will be graced by distinguished dignitaries from the engineering fraternity.

On this special occasion, the Association extends a warm and respectful invitation to all Engineers serving under the State Government, former executives, members of ASDEA and the general public to join us in celebrating this milestone year with unity, sportsmanship and engineering excellence.

The 34th Nepali Language Recognition Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, marking a significant milestone in the recognition of the Nepali language in India's Eighth Schedule. This day commemorates August 20, 1992, when the Lok Sabha passed a motion to add Nepali to the list of official languages.

And Also Sikkim Chief Minister:Prem Singh Tamang-Golay
Emphasized the importance of unity in safeguarding and strengthening the linguistic and cultural identity of the Nepali-speaking community globally. He urged Nepali-speaking communities worldwide to remain united in their efforts to promote the language.¹

The recognition of Nepali as an official language was the result of a long-standing movement led by various leaders, scholars, writers, and activists. Notably, former Sikkim Chief Minister Nar Bahadur Bhandari and his wife, Dil Kumari Bhandari, played crucial roles in this struggle.²

Former MP Dil Kumari Bhandari's presence at the celebration highlights her contributions to the language movement. Her efforts, along with those of others, have helped preserve and promote the Nepali language and culture.

It's heartwarming to see efforts being made to support and care for senior citizens. नमस्कार🙏

३४ औं नेपाली भाषा मान्यता दिवस हरेक वर्ष सिक्किम राज्य साथै भारत देशमै अगस्ट २० तारिखका दिन मनाइन्छ र यस दिनमा सन् १९९२ सालको अगस्ट २० तारिख, नेपाली भाषालाई संविधानको आठौँ अनुसूचीमा समावेश गरिएको ऐतिहासिक क्षणको सम्झनामा मनाइन्छ ।
नेपाली भाषालाई संविधानको आठौँ अनुसूचीमा समावेश गराउनु मुख्य योगदान पूर्व लोकसभा सांसद श्रीमती दिल कुमारी भण्डारी, ज्युको रहेकोछ|
उनी प्रथम नेपाली भाषी महिला सांसद हुन् जसले भारतीय लोकसभामा प्रतिनिधित्व गरिन्। उनले भारतीय संसदमा नेपाली भाषाको मान्यता सम्बन्धी आवाज उठाइन् र लामो प्रयासपछि नेपाली भाषा सन् 1992 मा भारतीय संविधानको आठौं अनुसूचीमा समावेश भएको हो|

आज यस महत्त्वपूर्ण अवसरमा म विश्वभरि छरिएर बस्नुभएका आदरणीय नेपालीभाषी अनि नेपाली भाषाप्रेमी महानुभाव तथा सम्पूर्ण सिक्किमेलि जनसमुदायलाई ३४ औं नेपाली भाषा मान्यता दिवसको हार्दिक अभिवादन सहित अनन्त शुभकामना चडाउन चाहन्छु|

आज हामी हाम्रो मातृभाषा नेपालीको सन्रक्षण र प्रबर्धनका लागी हाम्रो यात्रामा एउटा महत्वपुर्ण कोसीढुङा मनाउदछौ।नेपाली भाषालाई आधिकारीक मान्यता दिनु हाम्रो भाषिका सम्पदाको रक्षाका लागी सामुहिक प्रयासको प्रमाण हो।

नेपाली एउटा भाषा मात्र नभएर, यो हाम्रो पहिचान संस्कृति र परम्पराको प्रतीक हो।यो एउटा धागो , जस्ले हाम्रा विभिन्न समुदायलाइ एक सुत्रमा बाधी एकता अखण्डता र सद्भाव्ना जगाउदछ।

साहित्य देखि दैनिक कुराकानी सम्म जिवनका सबै पक्षमा नेपाली भाषाको प्रबर्धना गारीरहौ। आफ्नो भाषामा गर्व गरौ र यसको विकास र समृधीको गतिलाइ अझ गतिशिल बनाउने हामी सम्पूर्ण नेपालीभाषीले प्रण लिउ।
