Dimapur Police, in collaboration with the Railway Protection Force (RPF), have intensified security measures at the Dimapur Railway Station to curb illegal immigration and other criminal activities. This crackdown includes regular checks on incoming passengers and increased surveillance to identify and intercept individuals entering the region without proper documentation.

These actions are part of a broader effort by the authorities to address longstanding concerns about illegal immigration, which many believe poses a significant threat to the region's demographic balance and cultural identity. The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) has been vocal about the need for stringent enforcement of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system in areas like Dimapur, which have traditionally been exempt from these regulations. The NSF argues that this exemption has allowed illegal immigrants to exploit the area's open environment, leading to demographic changes and potential security risks.
