Title: A Flag is Not Freedom

Independence is not a holiday.
It’s a state of mind.

We may have lowered their flags,
but we raised their ideologies.
We removed their chains,
but embraced their systems.

We sing national anthems in foreign tongues.
Our children memorize European explorers,
but can’t name African kingdoms.

We are “sovereign” — yet we still beg.
We are “free” — yet we still flee.

So I ask again:

Did we get independence,
or just interdependence?

True freedom is not in documents.
It’s in direction.
It’s in designing systems that make belonging feel natural.

Africa doesn’t need another flag.
It needs a foundation.
