DDC kalaroose Chaudhry Mustafa Rahi hoisted the national flag on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day at Block Office kalaroose on the occasion of Independence Day, led by Block Development Officer kalaroose, during which the employees of the Roller Development Department and several school children also participated in the event.

*79th Independence Day : Kupwara celebrates I-Day with patriotic fervor & enthusiasm*
*Chairman DDC hoists National Flag at DPL Kupwara, ID functions held at Handwara, Lolab, Karnah*
KUPWARA, AUGUST 15: As the nation marks its 79th Independence Day, district Kupwara came alive with vibrant celebrations of Independence Day today with great patriotic fervor and enthusiasm.
The main function of Independence day was held at District Police Lines(DPL) Kupwara where Chairman District Development Council Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori hoisted the National Flag, inspected the parade and took salute at March-past which was presented by contingents of CRPF, Women battalion of JKP, IRP, JKP, Home Guards, FPF, Special Commandos of police, NCC Cadets and school children who performed synchronized movements which reflected discipline and coordination, amid patriotic tunes played by JKP Band dressed in their ceremonial uniforms creating a dignified and inspiring atmosphere.
Vice Chairman DDC, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir; Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, SSP Kupwara, Gulam Jeelani; ADDC Kupwara, M***i Fareed ud din; ADC Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmad, ACR, CPO, DDC Members, District officers, officials of all departments and large number of people from different areas were present during the function.
Addressing the Independence Day function, the Chairman, expressed his deep sorrow over the cloudburst incident that happened in Kishtwar district yesterday which claimed the precious lives of the people and expressed solidarity with the families of the deceased. He highlighted the historical background of the Independence Day with special reference to sacrifices made by freedom fighters and the armed forces.
The Chairman highlighted various achievements and developments made by the district during the recent past. He said Kupwara was recently awarded Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence for being among the best performing districts of the country. He said the district has seen a holistic development which range from construction of new roads, bridges, irrigation projects, Primary Health Centres, digital classrooms to successfully conduct of vaccination drives against rabies and lumpy skin diseases. Adding that Skill development programme has gained momentum in the district with establishment of self employment generating units by the youth.
The Chairman also expressed his delight over the sanctioning of Sahna Tunnel by the Government which will provide all weather connectivity to the major border sub division Karnah. He said the ongoing construction of National Highway and approval of Kupwara-Baramulla Railway project will boost the developmental activities in the district. He highlighted achievements under Jal Jeevan Mission, besides, upgradation of power infrastructure, development of model degree colleges, smart higher secondary schools, digital classrooms, and kindergartens which have improved the developmental tempo of the district. He also mentioned the tourism potential of Lolab, Bangus, Keran and other places which have hosted various tourism festivals in past and offer a plethora of opportunites vis a vis employment generation and development in the district.
Earlier, the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara and SSP Kupwara paid floral tributes at Martyr’s Memorial.
The celebration event concluded with playing of National Anthem.

The Republic celebrations were also held at all Tehsil, block Headquarters, Panchayats, Government Offices and Education institutions of the district where the National Flag was hoisted by the Heads of the institutions.

کشتواڑ میں خوفناک بادل پھٹنے کا سانحہ، 65 لاشیں برآمد، کئی لاپتہ

کشتواڑ میں گزشتہ روز بادل پھٹنے کے نتیجے میں بڑے پیمانے پر تباہی مچ گئی، جس میں اب تک کم از کم 65 لاشیں نکالی جا چکی ہیں جبکہ متعدد افراد تاحال لاپتہ ہیں۔ ریسکیو ٹیمیں رات بھر کارروائی میں مصروف رہیں اور لاپتہ افراد کی تلاش جاری ہے۔
ذرائع کے مطابق وزیر اعلیٰ عمر عبداللہ آج دوپہر متاثرہ علاقے کا دورہ کریں گے تاکہ صورتحال کا جائزہ لیں اور متاثرین سے ملاقات کریں۔

’ble Cabinet Minister for Health & Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education, and Social Welfare, Dr. Sakina Itoo Sahiba, unfurled the National Flag on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day celebrations at District Anantnag.
In her address, Dr. Itoo paid heartfelt tributes to Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Sahib for his unparalleled contribution towards the dignity, rights, and empowerment of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. She highlighted that the Omar Abdullah-led Government remains steadfast in carrying forward his vision of peace, progress, and equitable development for all sections of society.
