*“Give Blood, Save Humanity”*, a Blood Donation Camp was organized today by *POHRU Youth Federation* in6 collaboration with *Sub District Hospital (SDH) Langate*.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth volunteers, locals, and social activists who came forward to donate blood for the noble cause. A team of doctors and paramedics from SDH Langate supervised the camp and ensured all medical protocols and safety measures were followed.

Speaking on the occasion, organizers from POHRU Youth Federation said that the aim of the camp was to spread awareness about voluntary blood donation and to help meet the urgent need for blood in hospitals. They thanked all donors for their selfless contribution towards saving precious lives.

The hospital administration appreciated the efforts of POHRU Youth Federation and stressed that such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening healthcare support in the region.

In a significant political development, 10 families affiliated with the Awami Ittihad Party - AIP from Village Wahipora* formally joined the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference today.

The new entrants were welcomed into the party fold under the leadership of senior People’s Conference leader *Mr. Irfan Sultan Pandithpori* during a joining programme held in the village.

While addressing the gathering, Mr. Irfan Pandithpuri said that the growing faith of people in the J&K People's Conference reflects the party’s commitment to public welfare, development, and addressing grassroots issues. KISHTWAR POLICE ATTACHED VEHICLE WORTH ₹26 LAKHS UNDER NDPS ACT; ALSO REGISTERS 01 FIR FOR ILLEGAL POPPY CULTIVATION



Kishtwar, June 02, 2026:

Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and narcotics-related offences under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, District Police Kishtwar has attached a vehicle worth approximately ₹26 lakhs under the provisions of Section 68F(1) of the NDPS Act and also registered a case regarding illegal cultivation of poppy plants in the jurisdiction of Police Post Drabshalla.

SSP Kishtwar Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS, while sharing the details, stated that during the investigation of FIR No. 90/2026 registered under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act at Police Station Kishtwar, it surfaced that a Minibus bearing Registration No. JK06C-5714, owned by Mudasir Hussain S/o Mehraj-ud-Din R/o Om Mehta Road, Tehsil and District Kishtwar, was allegedly acquired from the proceeds of illicit narcotic drug trafficking.

Accordingly, after following the due legal procedure prescribed under the NDPS Act, the said vehicle has been attached under Section 68F(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985.

Moreover, Police Post Drabshalla destroyed illegal poppy cultivation belonging to Sameer Ahmed S/o Late Ajaz Ahmed R/o Khori Saroor, Drabshalla. In this regard, FIR No. 131/2026 under Section 8/18 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation has been initiated.

SSP Kishtwar reiterated that under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Kishtwar Police is committed to dismantling the entire drug trafficking ecosystem by targeting not only drug peddlers and traffickers but also the assets, proceeds, and illegal cultivation associated with narcotics-related crimes. He emphasized that strict legal action shall continue against all persons found involved in drug trafficking, illegal cultivation of narcotic substances, and related offences.

He further appealed to the public to cooperate with the police and share information regarding drug trafficking, illegal cultivation of narcotic plants, and other unlawful activities. Kishtwar Police remains steadfast in its commitment to making the district drug-free and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens.

*Anti-Drug Enforcement Drive Continues in PD Sopore under Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan; Wild Cannabis Destroyed*

Sopore, June 02, 2026:
In continuation of the sustained anti-drug enforcement drive under the *100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Sopore Police carried out another action against the wild growth of narcotic plants in the jurisdiction of Police Post Watergam.*

Acting on credible information regarding the presence of wild cannabis (bhang/bung) at village Tragpora, a joint team of Police and Excise officials conducted a destruction drive in the area.

*During the operation, wild cannabis growing over a considerable area was identified and destroyed on the spot after completing the requisite legal formalities. Samples were collected and seized for further examination.*

The action forms part of the continuous drive being undertaken by Sopore Police to identify and destroy wild growth of narcotic plants across the district and eliminate potential sources of drug abuse.

*Sopore Police reiterated that cultivation, possession, transportation or illegal use of narcotic substances is a serious offence under the NDPS Act and strict legal action shall be taken against those found involved.*

Sopore Police reaffirmed its commitment under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan to eradicate the drug menace at its roots and build a safer, healthier and drug-free society.

*ADC Sopore resolves long-pending compensation dispute; throws open Wohlutra RFD Dispensary*
SOPORE,June,2nd 2026:
In a major move to boost rural healthcare infrastructure and resolve local grievance, the Addl Deputy Commissioner Sopore Mr S A Raina (JKAS) today visited Wohlutra, Rafiabad.The visit took place consequent to the meeting held yesterday in his office Chambers here.The dispensary remained closed for several months due to a dispute regarding land/property compensation. Recognizing the urgency of providing accessible healthcare to the area, the ADC sb actively intervened in the matter and finally the long pending issue got resolved with the assurance to the land lord that his compensation case shall be processed as per norms, for which CMO Bla/ B M O Rohama have been advised accordingly. Resultantly The dispensary was thrown open.
BMO Rohama has been asked to shift all necessary medicines to the health centre and make it fullly functional from tomorrow.The ADC sb emphasized that the administration is committed to ensuring that public welfare projects are not stalled by administrative or procedural delays. İt has also been noted that the operationalization of this dispensary will bring immediate relief to Wohlutra and its adjoining areas, saving locals from traveling long distances for primary healthcare needs.
The local residents expressed their deep gratitude to the ADC Sopore for his swift intervention and empathetic approach in resolving the long-standing issue, hailing the opening of the dispensary as a major relief for the entire area.
