Rajouri – Ex-Sarpanch Dhangri and senior Congress leader Dheeraj Sharma visited the Bhata to Godhar Road in Panchayat Godhar, District Rajouri, where he interacted with locals and listened to their grievances. Bilal Rashid Transferred as Dy Director (E&S) to Tourism Dept Civil Secretariat J&K, Post Shifted Till SPREAD Scheme Implementation

Jammu, September 2025:
As per transfer orders issued by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, Planning, Development & Monitoring Department, Sh. Bilal Rashid, Deputy Director (E&S), presently posted in the Power Development Department, Civil Secretariat J&K (also holding additional charge of Planning Section in the Civil Aviation Department), has been transferred and posted to the Tourism Department, Civil Secretariat J&K.

The order further states that one post of Deputy Director (E&S) from the overall cadre strength shall also stand transferred to the Tourism Department for the purpose of salary drawl of the officer, till the implementation of the SPREAD Scheme.

The move is aimed at ensuring better planning, monitoring, and implementation of various schemes and programmes in the Tourism Department.

Earlier, Mr. Bilal Rashid served as Dy Director Planning in Samagra Shiksha and also remained DSEO Rajouri, where he emerged as one of the most popular officers, known for his meticulous approach and dynamic nature. He has excelled in multiple fields and has many awards to his credit, highlighting his professional achievements.

This transfer is seen as a strategic step to strengthen the Tourism Department through his expertise in planning and development.

Darhal’s Rakiban Area Auto Magic Accident, One Dead – Eight Injured

Rajouri – A tragic road accident took place today in the Rakiban area of Darhal Sub-Division. According to reports, an Auto Magic traveling from Darhal towards Rajouri suddenly met with an accident, leaving eight people seriously injured and one person dead on the spot.

As soon as the news of the accident spread, locals and police rushed to the site and immediately shifted the injured to Darhal Hospital. However, due to the critical condition of some of the injured, they were referred to GMC Rajouri for advanced treatment, where they are currently undergoing medical care.

Rajouri: Panchayat Bhata Ward No. 03 Road Construction Sparks Public Protest, Allegations of Substandard Work and Negligence

Rajouri – Massive resentment has erupted in Panchayat Bhata, Ward No. 03 of Rajouri district, where villagers have accused the contractor and concerned authorities of negligence and fraud in the ongoing road construction from Bhata to Godhar Bia Primary School.

Locals alleged that the contractor is using substandard material and has shown old work as new, thereby misleading the authorities and the public. Villagers pointed out that the same road was previously constructed under MNREGA, but the contractor has manipulated records to pass it off as fresh work.

Raising serious concerns, residents said that the small culverts (pulley) on the road are in a dilapidated and dangerous condition, yet no effort has been made to construct new ones. They further alleged that the survey and map of the road have been tampered with to cover up irregularities.

The public also expressed strong anger over the faulty drainage system, warning that the road will not survive long without a proper outflow system. They highlighted that no protection walls have been built, leaving commuters at risk of accidents and landslides.

Holding the PWD department responsible for negligence, locals staged a protest and demanded that the Rajouri district administration and Deputy Commissioner immediately intervene and order a fair inquiry into the matter.

The villagers issued a stern warning that unless the construction is carried out in a transparent and quality manner, they will intensify their agitation. They also declared that they will not allow black-topping of the road until all flaws are rectified.

Protest of Daily Wagers in Rajouri Led by Sunny Kant Chib, Demand for Regularization Policy.

Rajouri – A massive protest was organized today in Rajouri under the banner of the All Jammu and Kashmir Daily Wagers Struggle Committee. The protest was led by the committee’s president, Sunny Kant Chib, and witnessed participation from daily wagers of various departments.

On this occasion, the speakers appealed to the government to frame a regularization policy for daily wagers at the earliest so that their families can get stability and security.

They targeted the present National Conference government, saying that the promises made to daily wagers during elections have not been fulfilled till now. They warned that if their demands are not met soon, large-scale movements and protests would be launched across Jammu and Kashmir.

The daily wagers participating in the protest raised slogans and pledged to continue their struggle for rights.
