Being a Hindu and an Indian, this honestly breaks my heart.

The Krishna River is not just a river. We compare it with our Mother. Because for millions, it is sacred, the source of water, the source of agriculture and millions of life inside and around it.

Amaravati is not just another place, it is a land of faith, history, and devotion, home to the holy Amaralingeswara Swamy Temple shrine.

And yet, right beside this sacred place, we casually throw away clothes, plastic bags, plastic bottles, food waste, human waste and garbage into the river and its surroundings.

What hurts even more is how normal it has become.

We come here in the name of devotion, perform our rituals, pray to God… and then leave behind the very garbage that destroys the place we claim to worship.

Is this really our tradition? Is this really devotion?

If we truly respect our gods, our temples, our rivers, and our culture, shouldn't that respect also reflect in how we treat them?

Bhakti is not just in our prayers.
Bhakti is also in our responsibility.

Let’s not teach the next generation that polluting sacred places is “normal.”

Let’s leave our holy places with the same purity and dignity with which we found them.

Protect what we call sacred.
Respect what we call our own. 🙏
