Aj Jochonarate Shobai Gechhe Bone is one of Tagore’s luminous night-songs from Gitimalya, composed in 1914. Set in Raga Behag, the piece carries the gentle shimmer of moonlight and the quiet emotional expectancy of a night filled with inward searching.

As part of Rabi–Rāg–Roop, Salankaraa presents this work through its signature structure:
Raga → Song → Movement.

The esraj outlines the melodic brilliance of Behag, the tabla breathes life into its rhythmic contours, and the dance interprets the song through Rabindra Nritya’s subtlety—soft glances, measured gestures, and movement that respects the lyric rather than overwhelming it.

This performance seeks to honour Tagore’s intention:
a night not of spectacle, but of waiting—listening to what unfolds within.

সেদিনের প্রতিটি মুহূর্ত যেন আমাদের দীর্ঘ সাধনার প্রতিফলন। ক্লাসের নীরব অনুশীলন থেকে শুরু করে রিহার্সালের শেষ রাত পর্যন্ত—সবকিছু মিলিয়ে এই অনুষ্ঠানের মঞ্চ ছিল এক আবেগপূর্ণ সমাপনিকা। যে সকল শিল্পী, সংগীতশিল্পী, আলোকসজ্জাকারী এবং অভিভাবক পাশে ছিলেন—আপনাদের হাত ধরেই সালংকারা আজ এই জায়গায় দাঁড়িয়ে।

এদিকে শীতও এসে গেছে—হালকা কুয়াশা, সন্ধ্যার নরম নীল, আর সকালে বাড়তে থাকা নিস্তব্ধতা যেন অনুষ্ঠান-পরবর্তী সেই আবেগকেই আরও গভীর করে তুলছে।
এই শীত কেটে গেলে বসন্ত আবার ডাক দেবে, আর আমরা অপেক্ষায় থাকব বসন্তসভার সেই নতুন উচ্ছ্বাসের—নতুন রিহার্সাল, নতুন গান, নতুন আলোয় ফিরে আসার প্রতিশ্রুতি নিয়ে।

সালংকারা স্কুল অফ পারফরম্যান্স আর্ট-এর বার্ষিক অনুষ্ঠানের কিছু স্মরণীয় মুহূর্ত ১৫ই নভেম্বর আপনাদের সঙ্গে ভাগ করে নিতে পেরে আমরা অত্যন্ত আনন্দিত। ঢাকুরিয়ার অবন মহল , সিএলটি সন্ধ্যায় সেদিন আলো, রং এবং উচ্ছ্বাসে ভরে উঠেছিল।

এই অনুষ্ঠানের সবচেয়ে বড় আকর্ষণ ছিল ৮ থেকে ৮০ বছর বয়সের শিল্পীদের একসঙ্গে মঞ্চে নৃত্য পরিবেশন। ছোটদের প্রথম মঞ্চে ওঠার উত্তেজনা, সিনিয়ার ছাত্রীদের রবীন্দ্রনৃত্য এবং কত্থক এর লাইফ পরিবেশন - প্রতিটি মুহূর্ত ছিল অনুশীলন, পরিশ্রম ও ভালোবাসার নিখুঁত প্রকাশ।

এই সুন্দর আয়োজনকে সফল করে তুলতে যারা সামনে ও আড়ালে থেকে অক্লান্ত পরিশ্রম করেছেন - , অভিভাবক এবং আমাদের পুরো সকল বয়সের ছাত্রীরা এবং যে সকল শিল্পী গান গেয়েছেন এবং বাদ্যযন্ত্রের পরিবেশনায় ছিলেন তার সাথে মঞ্চে যিনি আলো দিয়ে ভরিয়ে দিয়েছিলেন - সবার প্রতি আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ। আপনাদের সহযোগিতা ও সমর্থনই আমাদের অনুপ্রেরণা।

এই মনোমুগ্ধকর দিনের স্মৃতিগুলো আপনাদের সঙ্গে ভাগ করে নিতে পেরে আমরা সত্যিই গর্বিত এবং আনন্দিত। সামনে আরও সুন্দর মুহূর্ত নিয়ে আমরা আবার ফিরে আসব।

A new performance from Salankaraa is now on YouTube.
Our Krishna Vandana in Teentaal (Tritaal)—set to the timeless composition originally sung by Pandit Birju Maharaj ji—is now available for everyone who has been asking to revisit the evening.

Choreographed by Ankita Roy, the piece brings together a thoughtful musical ensemble and a group of women who have returned to classical dance with remarkable dedication. The recording reflects what we value at Salankaraa: clarity of taal, restraint in expression, and an unwavering respect for tradition.

Last evening’s Rabi – Rāg – Roop felt like a gentle, luminous reminder of why the performing arts continue to move us so deeply. As the curtain fell and the stage filled with our students—women who returned to dance after decades, young learners carrying new hopes, and seniors who continue to challenge time with their quiet determination—it became clear that this programme was not merely a presentation. It was a collective affirmation of discipline, patience, and the quiet courage to begin again.

To everyone who joined us at Aban Mahal, thank you for offering your time, your silence, and your applause. Your presence gave the evening its warmth.
To our music directors, accompanists, and the entire backstage team—your steady hands shaped the experience in ways the audience may never fully see, but we at Salankaraa hold it with gratitude.
And to our students—your resolve, your hours of practice, and the dignity with which you hold Tagore’s songs and Kathak’s grammar are what make this institution meaningful. You remind us that learning is never a closed chapter.

At a moment like this, another milestone feels quietly symbolic—Salankaraa’s page has crossed 10,000 followers. মঞ্চের আলো নিভে গেলেই এখনো বুক ধড়ফড় করে।
মধুমিতা জানে, এই ভয়টা নতুন নয়—
এটা শুরু হয়েছিল তখন, যখন স্কুলের অনুষ্ঠানে নাচতে গিয়ে একবার তাল মিস করেছিল।
পেছন থেকে হাসির শব্দ উঠেছিল, আর মা বলেছিলেন, “ঠিক আছে, পরের বার ভালো হবে।”
কিন্তু পরের বারটা আর আসেনি।

তারপর জীবন বড় হয়ে গেল— কলেজ, চাকরি, সংসার।
কোথাও গিয়ে ভয়টা রয়ে গেল আগের মতোই।
যেন দেহে নয়, মনে বাঁধা পড়ে থাকা এক অদৃশ্য দড়ি।

একদিন সহকর্মী বলেছিল, “তুই তো নাচ শিখতিস, এখনো করিস?”
মধুমিতা হেসে বলেছিল, “সময় কোথায়?”
আসলে সময় ছিল, সাহস ছিল না।

এক সন্ধ্যায় সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় চোখে পড়ল Salankaraa।
ছবিতে কিছু নারী— কেউ নিখুঁত নয়, কেউ পেশাদার নয়, তবু সবাই নাচছে একসঙ্গে, হাসছে। সেই হাসির ভেতর কোনও বিচার নেই, কেবল মুক্তি।

প্রথম দিন ক্লাসে এসে পা কাঁপছিল।
ভুল হলো, হাসিও উঠল— কিন্তু এ হাসি ছিল আলাদা।
কেউ তাচ্ছিল্য করেনি, বরং সবাই হাততালি দিয়েছে।
অঙ্কিতা বলেছিলেন, “যতবার ভুল করবে, ততবার নিজেকে খুঁজে পাবে।”

আজ মধুমিতা জানে— নাচের ভয় মানে ভুলের ভয় নয়,
ওটা আসলে নিজেকে বিশ্বাস না করার ভয়।

এখন ভুল হলে সে হাসে।
কারণ নাচে ভুল মানে থেমে যাওয়া নয়—
নাচে ভুল মানে, বেঁচে থাকা।
