The mid-spec Tata Motors XT variant will soon debut with a revised feature list. As per the leaked document, the additional feature will include 14-inch hyper-style wheels, a height-adjustable driver seat, a rear parcel shelf, a vanity mirror on the co-driver side, and a blacked-out B-pillar. The company is yet to officially announce the fresh update and might also see a mild hike in prices. 

The hatchback continues to be powered by the existing 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine which generates 84bhp and 113Nm of torque. This engine is available in both five-speed manual and AMT options. More details on the prices and additional features, if any, might be known post the official announcement. 

The new feature addition is expected to regenerate interest among potential buyers and further strengthen competition in this segment.

MG Motor India has teased the new Hector ahead of its official launch in the country. As seen in the teaser, the vehicle will get a 14-inch HD portrait infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay system. The updated model is expected to get a fresh set of cosmetic and feature upgrades. 

The company claims that the new model will get the largest portrait infotainment unit in the country. Further, it is believed that the new model will enhance the in-car experience with modern technology features. The vehicle will get a redesigned dashboard and push start-stop button for freshness. Additionally, the vehicle is also expected to get a fully-digital instrument cluster. 

Mechanically, the vehicle is expected to continue being powered by the existing petrol and diesel engine options. The company is tight-lipped about the exterior details and it will be known at a later date. Post launch, it will compete against the likes of the Kia Seltos, Mahindra XUV700, and the Tata Harrier.

Maruti Suzuki has officially confirmed the name for its new upcoming offering, that is the Grand Vitara, ahead of its unveiling scheduled for 20 July, 2022. Simultaneously, the brand has also commenced the bookings for the new SUV across Nexa touchpoints in the country and the official Nexa website for Rs 11,000.

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota have jointly developed the new SUV to compete against the likes of Hyundai Creta, KIA Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and the MG Astor. In fact, Toyota recently revealed its Urban Cruiser Hyryder with two hybrid powertrain options, an all-wheel-drive system and a host of features. Given that, Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara will be somewhat identical to Urban Cruiser Hyryder in terms of powertrain, features and more.

The Grand Vitara is likely to be powered by Toyota’s 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated strong-hybrid petrol engine mated to an e-drive automatic transmission and Maruti Suzuki’s 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor with smart hybrid technology that is coupled to a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox. The latter is linked to an all-wheel-drive system.

It is expected to come with a host of features, such as a head-up display, a panoramic sunroof, LED projector headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, a wireless charging pad, six airbags, ventilated front seats, HHC, TPMS, VSC, cruise control, a 360-degree camera setup and so on.

Nissan India has opened bookings for the Magnite Red edition ahead of the price announcement on 18 July. The upcoming Magnite Red edition will be based on the XV variant and will be available in NA petrol manual transmission, Turbo petrol manual transmission, and Turbo petrol CVT options. 

Visually, the Nissan Magnite Red edition gets distinctive highlights in the form of red accents on the grille, front bumper cladding, wheel arch, and body side cladding. To distinguish it from the regular model, the Red edition model gets bold body graphics, tail door garnish, LED scuff plates, and Red edition badging. Further, the new variants will also offer LED DRLs and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. 

As for the interior, the Magnite Red edition gets an eight-inch touchscreen with WiFi connectivity, a seven-inch TFT instrument cluster, a wireless charger, and ambient mood lighting. Additional feature highlights include a push start/stop button, LED fog lamp, vehicle dynamics control, traction control system, hill start assist, and brake assist.

Japanese automaker Toyota has showcased the new Hyryder ahead of its expected India launch in the forthcoming festive season. On this occasion, the brand has also commenced bookings for the new SUV for Rs 25,000 across India. Meanwhile, Toyota will manufacture the Urban Cruiser Hyryder at its Bidadi plant in Karnataka.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will be powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, strong-hybrid petrol engine paired with an e-drive transmission and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated hybrid petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic. The latter is the same unit as available in the on-sale Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Ertiga, and the XL6. Meanwhile the SUV will also come equipped with an all-wheel-drive system.

The key exterior highlights of the new Urban Cruiser Hyryder include a blanked-off grille with a chrome bar, body cladding, split daytime running lights, LED projector headlights, a huge grille in the bumper, dual U-shaped taillights, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Besides this, it will be available with seven single-tone paint options, Cave Black, Sportin Red, Speedy Blue, Enticing Silver, Cafe White, Gaming Grey, and Midnight Black, along with four dual-tone colour choices.

On the inside, the SUV will bear a dual-tone interior, a digital instrument cluster, a nine-inch information touchscreen (the same unit as the new Brezza and Baleno), six airbags, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, and a wireless charging pad. The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza facelift has been launched in India. Available in four variants, the prices for the updated SUV start at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Further, the brand offers it in nine different colour options: Exuberant Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Sizzling Red, Splendid Silver, Brave Khakhi, and Magma Grey, including three two-tone colours: Brave Khakhi with White, Splendid Silver with Black, and Sizzling Red with Black.

The key exterior highlights of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift are new dual-projector LED headlamps, L-shaped daytime running lights, new partly closed-off grille in a gunmetal finish and chrome trim, redesigned front and rear bumpers, reshaped bonnet, LED fog lamps, new LED rear lights, and new alloy wheels.

Inside, the Brezza facelift comes with a two-tone Brown and Black interior, a new steering wheel, a nine-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment touchscreen, an upgraded analogue instrument cluster with a colour MID, a wireless chagrin pad, and new seat upholstery.

The automaker has provided it with several new features, such as an electric sunroof, a 360-degree camera, an Arkamys sound system, a head-up display, six airbags, more than 40 connected car features, USB Type-C ports, a cooled glovebox, auto headlamps, paddle shifters, ESP, hill hold assist, ISOFIX anchor points, and more.

Powering the 2022 Brezza facelift is a K15C 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated, petrol hybrid motor coupled to either a five-speed manual or six-speed torque-convertor automatic transmission. This engine produces 102bhp and 137Nm of torque.

Maruti Suzukii is geared-up to launch the 2022 Brezza facelift in India tomorrow. The mid-life update will bring numerous changes to the Brezza in the form of a fresh look, redesigned interior, and new features. The new Brezza is expected to be available in four variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus.

The carmaker has released a few teaser videos showing the features of the 2022 Brezza facelift. The SUV will get a new nine-inch infotainment touchscreen with SmartPlay Pro+, over 40 connected car features, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, and an electric sunroof. Besides this, it is also likely to come with electronic stability control, six airbags, a six-speaker sound system, hill hold control, roll-over mitigation, traction control, cruise control, a wireless charging pad, USB Type-C ports, and new upholstery. 

Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki will offer it with nine paint options: Exuberant Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Sizzling Red, Splendid Silver, Brave Khakhi, and Magma Grey, including three two-tone colour choices: Splendid Silver with Black, Sizzling Red with Black, and Brave Khakhi with White.

Powering the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift will be a K12C 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol hybrid engine mated to either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The SUV will share this powertrain with the recently launched refreshed Ertiga and XL6.

Mahindra has showcased the new-generation Scorpio-N in India ahead of its India launch slated for 15 August, 2022. Meanwhile, it will commence the bookings for the SUV on 30 July, 2022. The brand-new Scorpio-N will be available in five variants: Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8L across two engine options.

The new Scorpio-N is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine generating 200bhp and 380Nm of torque and a four-cylinder, diesel motor that can be opted in two different versions producing 130bhp and 172bhp. Both the engines are mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. Besides this, Mahindra also offers a 4x4 system, called the ‘4Xplor’, linked to the diesel engine.

Hyundai has launched one of its most anticipated 2022 Venue facelift in India with prices starting at Rs 7.53 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). The new Venue is available in a wide range of variants and a choice of six colour options.

The Venue facelift features a new larger grille with a dark chrome finish, LED projector headlamps, square-shaped daytime running lights, redesigned turn signals, new rear taillights with a rear LED light strip, new front and rear bumpers, and new 16-inch alloy wheels.

The interior of the Venue facelift comes with a dual-tone theme and new seat upholstery. It also gets a new colour digital driver display, upgraded infotainment system, four-way power-adjustable driver seat, two-step rear reclining seat, a drive mode selector, ambient lighting, and more.

Audi is set to launch the new 2022 A8L facelift in India on 12 July, 2022. This mid-life update has brought subtle changes to its exterior and updated infotainment and driver screens. Meanwhile, the fourth-generation A8L facelift made its global debut late last year.

The new Audi A8L features a bolder and sharper design thanks to the large radiator grille, redesigned angular headlights and daytime running lights, a new bumper, restyled taillights, and new alloy wheels. Besides this, the India-spec A8L will likely have digital LED headlamps and OLED taillights as standard equipment.

On the inside, the cabin of the new A8L gets an upgraded driver display and infotainment touchscreen with the latest MIB3. In addition, Audi offers two 10.1-inch screens in the back with a tablet-like controller placed in the rear armrest. The India-bound A8L model could come with more or less the same features.

Audi may offer the 60 TFSI trim of the new A8L in India, powered by a 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine integrated with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Upon launch, the 2022 Audi A8L will take on the likes of Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series.

Japanese automaker Honda has introduced the all-new City e:HEV hybrid in India at Rs 19.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The hybrid sedan is available in five paint options across a single variant, the ZX.

The Honda City e:HEV is powered by a 1,497cc, inline, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated, Atkinson-cycle petrol engine linked to a self-charging battery pack and a dual electric-motor setup. Coupled to the hybrid system is an e-CVT automatic gearbox. The engine produces 97bhp/127Nm, while the electric motor delivers 107bhp/253Nm. Meanwhile, the combined power output is rated at 125bhp. As claimed, the hybrid sedan gives out a fuel efficiency of 26.5kmpl.

The City hybrid gets an identical exterior design as its combustion-engine counterpart. The hybrid sedan, albiet, comes with subtle updates such as, redesigned front and rear bumpers, a little boot-mounted spoiler, and new 16-inch alloy wheels.

The interior of the City hybrid features a dual-tone Ivory and Black leather upholstery. Additionally, it gets a semi-digital instrument cluster, an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen; Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and weblink support; six airbags, and next-gen Honda Connect with Alexa, Google voice assistant compatibility and smartwatch support.

The City e:HEV gets a host of features such as six airbags, Honda Sensing – a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a left-lane watch camera, a hill start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system, rear-wheel disc brakes, vehicle stability control with electronic stability control, agile handling assist, traction control, and an electric parking brake with auto hold function.

Tata has at long last announced that it will be launching the Nexon long-range EV in India on 11 May, 2022. The extended range version of the on-sale Nexon EV will reportedly come with a larger battery pack, therefore an additional travel range.

The Nexon EV gets a 30.2kWh battery pack and provides a claimed range of 320km. This battery pack with a single motor setup makes 125bhp and 245Nm of torque. Having said so, the upcoming long-range Nexon EV to feature a larger 40kWh battery pack with a travel range of about 400km, according to some rumours. With this, it could also support faster AC/DC charging.

The long-range Tata Nexon EV prototype has been spied undergoing tests on several instances. This prototype appeared to carry forward the same exterior design as the current Nexon EV. However, it is most likely to get rear-wheel disc brakes as on the prototype of the long-range Nexon EV.

Apart from the Nexon EV news, Tata Motors recently showcased the all-new Avinya EV concept with the third-generation electric vehicle dedicated platform. The Avinya, a futuristic EV, will have a minimum travel range of 500km and will go on sale sometime in 2025.
