Unicorn Lady

A heartfelt graduation film by Rebecca Rechana Paul (Post Graduate Program, NID Ahmedabad), nurtured with care by Studio Eeksaurus under the visionary mentorship of Suresh Eriyat.

Based on a moving poem by Sumanto Chattopadhyay The English Nut, Unicorn Lady is an animated short that tenderly portrays a cancer survivor’s journey — from the shadows of a mastectomy to the luminous embrace of self-acceptance.

Through her stitches, she sews resilience. Through her pain, she discovers poetry. The film unfolds as a metaphor for the transition from physical scars to a deeper understanding of life — a tapestry woven from threads of endurance, rebirth, and grace.

A film for every body.
A story of scars, strength and sovereignty.

Based on a poem by Sumantho Chattopadhyay, it’s a tribute to resilience, transformation, and the art of embracing every fragment of existence.
