𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗮𝗱 𝗦𝗿𝗶 𝗚𝘂𝗿𝘂 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗯 𝗝𝗲𝗲

After the compiling and then assigning of Raags (musical modes) to Gurbani, in 1604, the compilation was sent to Lahore for binding. As soon as this was completed, Aad Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee was brought to Harmandir Sahib from Ramsar Sahib by Baba Budda Ji who carried the Saroop on their head while Guru Arjan Dev Ji did Chaur Sahib Seva (waving the Royal Fan above Aad Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee).

Upon arrival, Aad Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee was seated on a Manji Sahib (Respected Bedstead) and Guru Arjan Dev Jee sat lower than Them. Seeing this, the Sangat (congregation) developed the greatest respect for Gurbani (Guru’s words). Today we celebrate that auspicious day when Baba Budda Ji did Prakash of Sri Aad Granth Sahib Jee and the Sangat were blessed with the following hukamnama:

ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
soohee mehalaa panjvaa |
Raag Suhi, Fifth Mehal:

ਸੰਤਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਜਿ ਆਪਿ ਖਲੋਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਮੁ ਕਰਾਵਣਿ ਆਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
santaa ke kaaraj aap khaloeaa har kam karaavan aaeaa raam |
Vaheguru Himself has stood up to resolve the affairs of the Saints; He has come to complete their tasks.

ਧਰਤਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਤਾਲੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਜਲੁ ਛਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
dharat suhaavee taal suhaavaa vich amrit jal chhaeaa raam |
The land is beautiful, and the pool is beautiful; within it is contained the Ambrosial Water.

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐢 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐢 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐮 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡 𝐉𝐞𝐞

Bhai Taru Singh Jee was a One of Great Martyrs, Who sacrificed his life to save the Sikhi. Bhai Taru Singh Jee’s Shaheedi is very different from others. Bhai Taru Singh Jee’s scalp was removed from his head with Axe. So we can guess that How brave and Contented he was.

In his early 20s, Bhai Taru Singh Jee chose to have his scalp removed rather than give up his religious traditions.

In the 1700s, Sikhs were being persecuted by Zakariya Khan, who ruled Punjab under the Mughal Empire. Bhai Taru Singh Jee and his family would support and provide food for Sikh rebels who wished to take him down.

During this rebellion, Bhai Taru Singh Jee was arrested by Zakriya Khan’s police and was tortured. The executioner used a chisel to remove his scalp however, Bhai Taru Singh Jee remained absorbed in meditation.

Bhai Taru Singh Jee lived after his torture and continued to meditate and sing the praises of the Lord. He left his body immediately after the death of Zakariya Khan.

ਕਹਾ ਭਇਓ ਜਉ ਤਨੁ ਭਇਓ ਛਿਨੁ ਛਿਨੁ ॥
kahaa bhio jau tan bhio chhin chhin ||
What would it matter, if my body were cut into pieces?

ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਜਾਇ ਤਉ ਡਰਪੈ ਤੇਰੋ ਜਨੁ ॥੧॥
prem jai tau ddarapai tero jan ||1||
If I were to lose Your Love, Lord, then Your humble servant would be afraid. ||1||

On Miri Piri day, 6th Patshah 𝗦𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗯 𝗦𝗿𝗶 𝗚𝘂𝗿𝘂 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗯 𝗝𝗲𝗲 wore two Kirpans representing 𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗶 and 𝗣𝗶𝗿𝗶 at 𝗦𝗿𝗶 𝗔𝗸𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗵𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗯. One representing Miri or political commander and the other Piri, representing spiritual authority. For this reason, Guru Jee is known as “𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗶 𝗣𝗶𝗿𝗶 𝗱𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗸”
