🦠 HEPATITIS A — Know How It Spreads & How to Prevent It
Hepatitis A is a viral infection that mainly spreads through the fecal–oral route, often by consuming contaminated food or water.
🔹 Common symptoms:
• Fatigue and weakness
• Loss of appetite
• Nausea
• Abdominal discomfort
• Dark urine
• Pale stools
• Yellowing of the eyes and skin (jaundice)
🔹 Treatment: There is no specific antiviral treatment for acute Hepatitis A. Care is mainly supportive, including adequate fluids, nutrition, rest, and medical care when needed.
🔹 Prevention:
✅ Hepatitis A vaccination
✅ Safe drinking water
✅ Proper sanitation
✅ Handwashing with soap
✅ Good food hygiene
Most people recover completely, and Hepatitis A does not become a chronic liver infection.
