Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday said India Post will roll out a guarantee-based service of mails and parcels with delivery timelines of 24 hours and 48 hours.

The minister said that 24-hour and 48-hour mail delivery and next-day parcel delivery will start from January onwards.

"We are going to launch new products with guaranteed delivery of mails and parcels. There will be a 24-hour Speed Post service which will ensure delivery of mails within 24 hours. Similarly, there will be a 48-hour Speed Post for delivery within 48 hours," Scindia said.

These services will be launched in January, he added.

He said that there will be similar services for next-day delivery of parcels, which will ensure that the parcel gets delivered the next day instead of in around 3-5 days at present.

The minister said that the government aims to transform India Post from a 'cost centre' to a 'profit centre' by 2029.

Rajendranagar Traffic PS Report:
Today at around 0945 hours, a non-fatal road accident occurred on ORR near Exit 18 due to a tyre burst of a private travel bus bearing No. AR01J6035.

The bus, traveling from Nagpur to Rajendranagar, lost control following the tyre burst, crossed the central plantation, and entered the opposite carriageway from Airport towards Gachibowli, where it collided with a Bolero vehicle bearing No. TS08UL2851.

As a result, both vehicles sustained damage; however, no injuries were reported. Approximately 9 passengers were traveling in the bus at the time of the incident.

SHO Rajendranagar Traffic, along with ACP Rajendranagar Traffic, ORR Patrol Mobile, RJNR Law & Order Police, and the IRB team, visited the spot. The team ensured traffic clearance and removal of the damaged vehicles from the ORR.
