Rabindranath Tagore, a multi-talented Bengali polymath, born on May 7, 1861was not only a poet, but also a philosopher, painter, musician, and playwright. Tagore was the first Non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 for his collection of poems, "Gitanjali."

Tagore's legacy is immense and his influence on literature and culture has been felt around the world. The National Anthems of India, Bangladesh are adaptations of his works "Jann Gann Mann" and "Amar Shonar Bangla" respectively. On his birth anniversary, we celebrate his life and work and remember his contributions to the arts and society.
