LG Manoj Sinha Honours Decorated Indian Army Veterans at Maharaja Hari Singh Dogra Samman Award 2025
Jammu 27 Feb 2025 - The prestigious Maharaja Hari Singh Dogra Samman Award 2025, organized by We The Women Club – Meri Pehchan, the annual event, known for honoring distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to the nation, marked a historic milestone by recognizing and celebrating the valiant warriors of the Indian Army.
For the first time in India, the award ceremony was held to pay tribute to the nation’s most decorated soldiers—those honored with the Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Mahavir Chakra, Shaurya Chakra, Kirti Chakra, and Sena Medal for their exemplary service and sacrifices. This initiative aims to acknowledge the unparalleled dedication and bravery of the armed forces, ensuring their contributions are forever remembered and celebrated.
The event witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, with the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, and Union Minister Shri Ramdas Athawale attending as Chief Guests. Adding to the grandeur of the occasion, General Officer Commanding (GOC) Gen. Mukesh Bhanwala graced the event as the Guest of Honour. The ceremony was commence with the Lighting of the Lamp, symbolizing the spirit of courage, patriotism, and service to the nation.
The event wad spearheaded by Sandhya Gupta, Founder of Maharaja Hari Singh Dogra Samman Award, and Sunny Singh Ji. Speaking on the occasion, Sandhya Gupta, Chairperson of Women’s Club Meri Pehchan, emphasized the importance of recognizing the sacrifices made by the armed forces. She highlighted that the award is a tribute to these brave soldiers who have dedicated their lives to protecting the country. She further expressed her gratitude to Governor LG Manoj Sinha, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale, and the media for their unwavering support in making this event a grand success.
Several distinguished war heroes and social activists were honored at the ceremony for their exceptional service and dedication. Among them are Lt. Gen. Anup Singh Jamwal, Maj. Gen. Sunita Kapoor (Retd.), Colonel Rajinder Kumar Sharma, , Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar, Naib Subedar Chuni Lal, Lance Naik Nazir Ahmed Wani, Subedar Sansar Chand, Capt. M V Pranjal( S C) and Kr. Ravinder Singh Vicky, who serves as the General Secretary of Shaheed Sainik Parivar Suraksha Parishad. In addition, Shri Jatinder Singh Gujar, a dedicated security guard, and Smt. Supriya Hoon, a well-known social activist, were also honored for their remarkable contributions to society.
