‘’Why Allegations Fail: SPSC’s SI Exam Pattern Makes Tampering Practically Impossible.”
The allegations made by the Citizen Action Party (CAP) and the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) claiming that the Sub-Inspector recruitment was unfair are completely baseless, ill-informed, and politically motivated.
A simple look at the examination structure itself exposes how hollow these accusations are.
1. Transparent and Objective Marking System
The Sub-Inspector recruitment carried a total of 550 marks, out of which:
480 marks were purely Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) on OMR sheets.
50 marks were for the Physical Endurance Test, conducted publicly in the presence of all candidates.
Only 20 marks were from comprehension, and even these were coded and evaluated anonymously.
There was no viva-voce in this exam, meaning zero subjective assessment and no discretionary scope for manipulation.
2. OMR-Based Evaluation Leaves No Room for Tampering
OMR sheets are checked by computer systems. Once filled, OMR sheets cannot be altered under any circumstance. Any expert in recruitment examinations understands that such systems are deliberately designed to prevent post-submission tampering.
3. Physical Tests Conducted Openly
The Physical Endurance Test, which accounts for 50 marks, was held in full public view with all candidates present. Manipulation in such a setting is impossible.
4. Anonymous Evaluation of Comprehension Answers
Comprehension answer scripts sent for evaluation by SPSC are coded with unique numbers. The evaluators do not know the identity or roll number of the candidate, ensuring total fairness and anonymity.
5. Voting Patterns Explain Youth Representation—Not Manipulation
In the recent General Elections, the SKM Party secured 58.38% vote share, amounting to approximately 2,25,068 votes. Data further indicates that around 80% of youths voted for SKM. Naturally, when such a large proportion of the youth population supports the ruling party, the same ratio statistically reflects in competitive examinations.
When nearly 60% of the electorate supports the ruling party, it is mathematically expected that a higher proportion of SKM-leaning youths will clear merit-based exams as well. This is not bias—this is basic permutation and probability.
6. Baseless Allegations by CAP & SDF Driven by Desperation
CAP and SDF are desperately searching for an issue to malign the SKM Government, because they have nothing substantial to raise. Their attempt to create controversy around an exam that is entirely OMR-based and largely mechanical only reflects their political frustration.
In a state with over 85% reservation, any graduate with preparation has the ability to clear SPSC exams. The system is transparent, accessible, and fair. Trying to mislead the public with fabricated stories is nothing but political mudslinging.
7. SKM Government Continues to Deliver Opportunities
Despite constant obstruction and negativity from the opposition, the SKM Government has consistently delivered regular, stable government jobs and created opportunities for youth. Allegations from the opposition are merely tactics to keep their political shops open.
Final Point:
Blaming the government for an exam based on OMR sheets, public physical tests, and coded evaluations shows ignorance. CAP and SDF are attempting to manufacture an issue where manipulation is simply impossible.
