The Kathak Kendra, New Delhi the Constituent Unit of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi an autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture, Govt. Of India glamourised the concept and purpose of Kathak is a very unique way at the 37th Kathak Mahotsav 2025. This mega Mahotsav gave platform to different Kathak dancers, scholars and authors from March 21 to 26 in New Delhi. One of the most admirable initiative was the world’s first Kathak Literary Festival which brought a new dimension to the Kathakaars. The book fair, Kathak Seminars, interactive displays and the Walk Through Exhibition were stunning along side the evening Kathak dance concerts. The ambiance was filled with Kathak lovers, students and great Gurus. Team Kathak Kendra, under the promising & dynamic leadership of its Director Smt. Pranaame Bhagawati commemorates the event thoughtfully with an unimaginable outlook and with added vision. This lingering Kathak Mahotsav undoubtedly brought in an attraction both for Kathak performers as well as connoisseurs.

AMRAPALI (Society for ARTS) and Priyamz Divine Dancers had a successful presentation of Kathak Sandhya 2024 at Kaziranga University, Jorhat on December 29th. Students participating in the 3-day Winter Workshop 2024, under guidance of Smt. Shikha Khare, Kathak exponent, New Delhi made a final performance on the eve. The invited Kathak exponent also performed on the eve, leaving the audiences spell bound with her excellent movements and compositions. This initiative is brought forward by for promotion of Indian traditional art forms in various places imbibing the deepest nuances of an art form within various age groups.

The Eshani Kathak Academy, a brainchild of Kathak danseuse Smt. Eshani Agarwal celebrated its annual showcase of its students on December 20, 2024, in collaboration with the Kathak Kendra, New Delhi. The event was held at Swami Vivekanand Auditorium, in Kathak Kendra, New Delhi with the gracious presence of Smt. Pranaame Bhagawati, Director, Kathak Kendra. The evening also welcomed the benign presence of Shri Raju Das, Secretary, Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi along with his wife Smt. Roopa Rani Das Borah.

A BEAUTIFUL CONJUNCTION OF INDIAN CLASSICAL DANCES AT NEW DELHI’S SAMASRAVA 2024
On December 10th, 2024, the Stein Auditorium at India Habitat Centre came alive with the ethereal beauty of Indian classical dance forms performed by renowned artists from across India – Odissi by Arunima Ghosh & troupe and YSNA Awardee Vinod Kevin Bachan, Bharatnatyam by Arohi Munshi, and Kathak by Diksha Rawat. Chief Guest of the event was Smt. Pranaame Bhagawati, Director, Kathak Kendra, New Delhi who inaugurated the event with ceremonial lamp lighting along with other distinguished guests of the evening.

The Amrapali Magazine is an initiative ventured by Pranaame Bhagawati, who is a professional Kathak and Sattriya danseuse, empaneled artiste of the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) under the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India. The Amrapali Magazine is a vital element under its umbrella organisation AMRAPALI (Society for ARTS), founded by Pranaame Bhagawati along with her husband Rudro Jayanta Bhagawati, who is a Kathak dancer, choreographer and music director. The duo traversed their artistic skills and mission of the organisation in places like Germany, Dubai, UK, USA, Maldives, Tanzania, Guyana, Qatar, etc.

The Amrapali Magazine is designed to accumulate all the essential news, updates, articles and features related to arts, culture, heritage, lifestyle, travel, etc. across the globe on to a single platform for artistes, art enthusiasts, art connoisseurs and those who like to unfurl artistic dimensions within the self. We have proudly stepped into our 5th year and from a handful of contributors, we have grown with a decent number of writers associated with us for the goodness of popularising arts, culture, heritage, wellness, health, etc. to the world.
