Uri:20 October 2025:JKNC Zonal President North Kashmir and MLA Uri Dr. Sajjad Shafi Uri has extended warm greetings on the auspicious occasion of Diwali to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the residents of Uri Constituency.

In his message, Dr. Sajjad Shafi Uri said:“I extend heartfelt Diwali greetings to people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly to the peace-loving people of Uri Constituency. May this festival of lights bring happiness, prosperity, unity, and new hope to every household. Let the spirit of Diwali strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and harmony across Jammu and Kashmir.”

He also prayed for peace, development, and wellbeing of the region, emphasizing collective efforts for a brighter future.

*Health Minister Sakeena Itoo Along with MLA Uri Dr. Sajjad Shafi Uri Visits to PHC Boniyar and PHC Sheeri*

Baramulla: 20 October 2025:
Health Minister Sakeena Itoo, accompanied by MLA Uri Dr. Sajjad Shafi Uri, visit PHC Boniyar and PHC Sheeri to review healthcare facilities and service delivery in the region.

During the visit, the Minister inspected infrastructure, staff presence, availability of medicines, diagnostic facilities, and patient care services. They interacted with patients and locals to take direct feedback regarding the functioning of both health centers.

MLA Dr. Sajjad Shafi Uri raised key demands including deployment of specialist doctors, round-the-clock emergency services, fully equipped ambulance services, and upgradation of PHC Boniyar to meet public needs.

Addressing the officials on spot, Health Minister Sakeena Itoo said,
“Health facilities in far-flung and border areas like Boniyar and Sheeri are our priority. No negligence will be tolerated, and necessary steps will be taken to strengthen medical services.”

Local residents expressed satisfaction over the surprise visit and hoped that their longstanding issues would be resolved promptly.

*Annual Day Celebration Held at Govt. Higher Secondary School Baramulla*

*Developmental works pending for the last ten years cannot be completed in just one year* Sakeena Itoo

BARAMULLA: 20 October 2025:The Annual Day Celebration of Government Higher Secondary School Baramulla was observed with great zeal and enthusiasm. Education Minister Sakeena Itoo attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest.

In her address, Minister Sakeena Itoo said that the government is committed to providing quality education across Jammu and Kashmir. She stressed that efforts are being made to ensure maximum vaccination coverage in District Baramulla for the safety of students and the academic community. She also remarked that developmental works pending for the last ten years cannot be completed in just one year, but the present Government is focused on accelerating progress in the education sector.

The event was also attended by JKNC Zonal President North Kashmir Dr. Sajjad Shafi Uri along with all MLAs of District Baramulla, who marked their presence and appreciated the efforts of the institution in promoting education and co-curricular activities.

The gathering applauded the initiatives of the school management and expressed hope for better facilities and educational reforms in the region.

Boniyar, (Numman Aftab) 20 October 2025: Education Minister Sakeena Itoo and MLA Uri Dr. Sajjad Shafi Uri, inaugurated a double-storey building and laid the foundation stone for new infrastructure at Higher Secondary Boniyar, marking a significant step toward strengthening educational facilities in the region.

During the ceremony, MLA Uri Dr. Sajjad Shafi Uri expressed gratitude to the Education Minister for her visit and proactive support towards improving the education sector in Uri Constituency. He also thanked her for order no education under the Social welfare Department for marriage assistance schemes to support deserving families.

Dr. Sajjad Shafi Uri placed several important demands before the minister, including. Appointment of Principals in all Degree Colleges and Higher Secondary Schools in the sub-division to ensure administrative and academic efficiency. Upgradation of PHC Boniyar to Community Health Centre (CHC) status to enhance healthcare facilities for the local population of Boniyar.Transfer of Master Grade Teachers from Baramulla back to Uri to meet the staff shortage in educational institutions. Demand for ST2 status for the entire Sub Division Uri, aiming to bring more developmental benefits and welfare schemes to the region.

Sakeena Itoo appreciated the proactive role of MLA Uri Dr. Sajjad Shafi Uri, acknowledging his continuous efforts in raising the issues and genuine grievances of the Uri Constituency at every platform.

The local population welcomed the minister’s visit and expressed hope that these demands would be fulfilled to accelerate the development of education and healthcare infrastructure in Uri.
