- In News: SC asked the government to come up with measures for facilitating the release of undertrials and those convicted of minor offences to celebrate 75th year of independence.

- Undertrial Prisoner: is one who has been arrested for some crime who is waiting to appear before the magistrate.

- Important Data: Lower courts are burdened with more than 4 CR pending cases and 76% of prisoners in jails are undertrials [NCRB 2020]

‘विश्व टूना दिवस’
⬧ प्रतिवर्ष 2 मई को टूना मछली (Tuna Fish) के बारे में लोगों में जागरूकता फैलाने के लिए सम्पूर्ण विश्व में ‘विश्व टूना दिवस’ मनाया जाता है।
⬧ यह दिन संयुक्त राष्ट्र (UN) द्वारा टूना मछली के महत्त्व के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए स्थापित किया गया है।
⬧ विश्व टूना दिवस को संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा (UNGA) द्वारा दिसंबर, 2016 में 71/124 के प्रस्ताव को ग्रहण कर आधिकारिक रूप से घोषित किया गया था।
⬧ संयुक्त राष्ट्र के अनुसार, विश्व में कई देश खाद्य सुरक्षा और पोषण दोनों के लिए टूना मछली पर निर्भर है।
⬧ संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने सतत मात्स्यिकी प्रथाओं के बारे में और टूना की भारी माँग से इसे होने वाले खतरों के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाने के लिए इस दिवस की स्थापना की थी।
⬧ टूना मछली अपने स्वस्थ और स्वादिष्ट मांस के लिए विश्व स्तर पर लोकप्रिय है। टूना मछली ओमेगा-3 से समृद्ध है और इसमें मिनरल्स, प्रोटीन और विटामिन बी-12 भी पाया जाता है।

“सबसे बड़ी ख़ुशी समझने की ख़ुशी है।“
⬧ लियोनार्डो दा विन्ची का जन्म 15 अप्रैल, 1452 को इटली के प्रसिद्ध शहर फ्लोरेंस के निकट विंची में हुआ था।
⬧ उनके पिता एक प्रसिद्ध वकील थे।
⬧ लियोनार्डो दा विन्ची की आश्चर्यजनक अभिरुचि वनस्पति विज्ञान और शरीर रचना विज्ञान से लेकर गणित शास्त्र और कला तक विस्तृत थी।
⬧ उन्होंने ‘मोनालीसा’ और ‘द लास्ट सपर’ (अन्तिम भोज, 1495) चित्रों की रचना की।
⬧ उनका यह स्वप्न था कि वे आकाश में उड़ सकें। वे वर्षों तक आकाश में पक्षियों के उड़ने का परीक्षण करते रहे और उन्होंने एक उड़न-मशीन (Flying Machine) का प्रतिरूप (Design) बनाया।
⬧ उन्होंने अपना नाम 'लियोनार्डो दा विन्ची, परीक्षण का अनुयायी' रखा।
⬧ विन्ची का 2 मई, 1519 में फ़्रांस के क्लाउस नामक शहर में देहांत हो गया था।
