Huawei has invested heavily in AI, particularly in integrating it into its hardware, like its smartphones and cloud services. Huawei’s AI capabilities are often showcased through their HiSilicon Kirin chips, which incorporate AI features for tasks such as image recognition and natural language processing. They also leverage AI in their network equipment and enterprise solutions.

Apple, on the other hand, focuses on a more integrated approach with its custom-designed chips, like the A-series and M-series processors, which feature dedicated AI hardware such as the Neural Engine. Apple’s AI is closely tied to its ecosystem, enhancing user experience across devices with features like Siri, on-device machine learning, and privacy-centric AI processing.

So, while Huawei has made significant strides with its AI hardware and applications, Apple’s strength lies in the seamless integration of AI into its broader ecosystem. Chinese tech giant Huawei launched its new Mate XT smartphone just hours after the Apple’s much awaited event, boasting far more impressive AI features powered by Huawei’s in-house Kylin chips but the people fond of Apple quickly get disappointed when they learned that the AI features in apple 16 would not be immediately available in all languages until next year especially Chinese as it’s a bit market.

But if we will talk about Huawei’s AI assistant, with text summary, translation, and editing functions, and AI-boosted image editing functions, such as trimming unwanted parts of photos, will be readily available once Mate XT. Another point to be noted that Mate XT has already received more than four million pre-orders according to the company’s website.

“Today, we bring you a product everyone can think of but could not make. Our team has been working hard for five years and has never given up,” Huawei executive director Richard Yu said at the launch.
