What Saumya and I have built still makes me emotional when I stop to think about it. 💛

Delhi Poetry Slam is the largest community for poets in the world. Poets of every age, every background, every story — all walking into the same room to learn, share, and find each other ✨

In a world that lives online, we are something rare.
A real space.
A breathing, laughing, crying, feeling space.

Post-pandemic, when we forgot what it meant to truly connect — this is where people remember.

No algorithms deciding who gets heard. No likes determining your worth. Just you, your words, and a room full of people who get it.

A place for humans to be humans. 🌍✨
That’s Delhi Poetry Slam. And I’m so proud it exists.

I still can’t believe it happened✨

60 people walked into our poetry show — and even more showed up at the door without tickets, refusing to leave, choosing to stand just to be in the room. Just to feel something together 💛🥹

I don’t take this lightly. Not even for a second.
Because I remember the pandemic.

I remember watching three years of everything we built just… stop. No shows. No stages. No voices filling a room.

I still can’t believe what happened last night. ✨

There were nights I genuinely didn’t know if Delhi Poetry Slam would ever come back. If we would ever come back.

But our audience never left.

They came back to every show. They bought tickets. They stood at the door. They shared our posts, dragged their friends, and reminded us why we started this in the first place 🥹🥹🥹

Running India’s largest poetry organisation is not easy. But moments like last Thursday make single hard day worth it.
Thank you for choosing poetry. Thank you for choosing us. 🖤

They said no one shows up for poetry anymore 🎤

Funny—because we built Delhi Poetry Slam into the city’s loudest room for quiet words ✨💛

Open mics packed. Voices overflowing.

Last event? Completely Sold out with 60 people showing up on a Thursday 😊

We didn’t build this community in a day, this is a decade of hard work ✨🎤

What does an emcee really do at a poetry show? 🎤

They’re not just holding the mic — they’re holding the room.
They read the energy, calm the nerves, spark the laughter, and make 60 strangers feel like one listening heart. They’re the bridge between silence and applause, between vulnerability and voice.

At Delhi Poetry Slam, our open mic emcee Kriti did exactly that — guiding a crowd of 60 souls through waves of stories, emotions, and words. ✨

Invictus by William Ernest Henley recited by .choudhury_

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
