Does anyone else feel like our cities are always under construction? This is not just a matter of inconvenience. Buildings contribute to 20% of India's carbon emissions.

We urgently need to make sure that our buildings are energy-efficient.

The thing is we have more rules, norms and codes for green buildings than we know what to do with. But recently Telangana and Gujarat have been taking some positive steps to implement these codes.

Imagine if every school in Chennai grew its own vegetables. This one already does.

What used to be a waterlogged corner in a government school is now a lively garden, where vegetables are harvested for mid-day meals.

This garden nurtures vegetables, community, care and the city's fight for climate resilience.

Free filtered water at restaurants sounds like a great idea, good for your wallet and the planet. But is it safe?

A recent study in Bengaluru found that over half the samples from restaurants contained faecal colliformes, bacteria from human and animal p**p. 🤢 Researchers Priyanka Jamwal and Durba Biswas from shared their results.

While we reduce plastic waste, we also need clean, safe drinking water. It’s time for better regulations and accountability.

Here's something we can do.
Tag your favourite restaurant and ask them if their water is tested. Ask them to display their test results.

On Saturday night, in Gurgaon, an auto driver promised his wife he would be home soon - after dropping off his last passenger.
He never came back. The next day, his body was found in an open sewer.

His pregnant wife waited all night for him.
This is the cost of inaction. Of uncovered drains. Poor planning. And civic apathy.

Floods aren’t just natural disasters.
They’re civic failures. But ones that can be fixed. brings us lessons from six cities across the world, including India, that have worked to fix flooding issues. They may not be perfect, but they are far ahead of

Rethinking roads in Bengaluru: What if our infrastructure did more than just carry traffic?

From white‑topped concrete stretches that block rainwater flow, to poorly built tree‑pit‑less walkways, our current road design is worsening waterlogging and preventing groundwater recharge. Swipe to read what strategies experts suggest

The Dahisar river is omnipresent—providing a serene setting to a group of senior citizens singing, a refuge for birds, holding a mirror to the green of the trees along its banks and the blue of the sky above.

As it flows outside the park, it first disappears beneath a road, only to emerge on the other side less than one-fourth of its width.

The trees are replaced with cowsheds, buildings and further down, informal settlements and the railway line. Here, the river transforms into a gutter with grey-green sludge choked by sewage, solid waste and encroachments.

Despite a ₹246 crore rejuvenation project, experts worry that BMC’s efforts may not be enough without community engagement, flood-resilient planning, and ecological restoration.

How climate-aware are Tamil Nadu’s lawmakers? assessed the climate knowledge of 20 MLAs from Tamilnadu Assembly and revealed that many struggle with basic climate concepts.

Most MLAs expressed strong concern for nature and the environment, they showed a poor understanding of climate science and important policy concepts.

So what's missing? Not interest but information.
The report calls for better training, multilingual resources, and regular climate briefings in the Assembly.

While the study is based on TN lawmakers, we think politicians across India will likely need better training to actually tackle climate change.

Friends in the climate sector, have you met political leaders with a good understanding of the ?

Our cities are grappling with floods and heatwaves. What if the solution isn’t more concrete, but more wetlands, trees, and green spaces? 🌳💧

Blue-Green infrastructure introduces natural infrastructure instead of more concrete into our cities. This is a climate friendly way to manage water, cool the city, and restore biodiversity

Swipe through to learn how this approach can transform urban resilience.
