Automation and reducing operator dependency are becoming increasingly important in packaging production.

In this clip, Venugopal Menon of BOBST talks about some of the technologies that will be showcased during the upcoming Open House scheduled at the Pune Competence Center, including Smart GPS, AccuCheck, AccuBraille and solutions for folding and corrugated production.

Jury Meet Day 4: The changing shape of packaging

On Janmashtami morning in Mumbai, the PrintWeek Awards Jury Meet concluded with spirited debate and sharp insights as panelists judged FMCG, F&B, and pharma packaging.

From textures chip packs and microwaveable cartons to anti- counterfeiting features and the balance between design and ex*****on, the jury saw how packaging is evolving to meet sustainability and consumer needs.

As Janak Bhatt put it: "Packaging today is the new brand ambassador. Earlier brands relied on celebrities; now design and print carry that role."

Day 4 of the PrintWeek Awards 2026 Jury Meet wrapped up at Voltas Premises, with ten jury members evaluating samples across FMCG, F&B, and pharma packaging categories.

A big thank you to our Day 4 jury panel: Tasneem Vasi (CTRL M Marketing), Amit Kale (Reliance Retail), Janak Bhatt (Pristine ideas), Koel Bhadra (L'Oréal), Amitt Saurkarr (Marico), Karishma Mehta (BeyonDesign), Prasad Balan lyer (Nishtha Consultancy Services), Vedant Bhalwatkar (Unilever), Raju Kalgutkar (Piramal Consumer Healthcare) and Mayuri Nikumbh (Elephant Design) for their expert evaluation.

Day Three of the PrintWeek Awards Jury Meet brought labels, rigid boxes, paper bags, and pre-media under the lens.

From fine detailing on uncoated stock to mirror boxes, Christmas sock carrier bags, and the unseen craft of prepress, the jury witnessed how technical mastery and creative storytelling continue to define excellence.

As Deepti Kshirsagar put it: "They've achieved amazing results on uncoated paper, with metallic swatches that elevate the design."
