Reminiscing for our 10th birthday, we’re celebrating a big moment for Maed in India - in July 2017 when we got British reggae dancehall legend on the show! Trying (but not always succeeding) to keep her fangirling under control, got a chance to ask him about his Jamaican nanny, his biggest hits like Boom Shak a Lak, Chok There, Arranged Marriage, stopping gang violence in his hometown Birmingham, starting his own academy & youth centre, and his album out that year called ‘In JA’. Here are a few candid bits and bobs from the recording!

10 years of Maed in India 🎉 This week we’re rewinding to 2017 - a year of big firsts, bittersweet moments and goosebumps galore. We went LIVE (!!) with , hit our 100th episode with legends , and even had drop by to sing acapella while on tour. There were bandmates roasting each other, stripped-down punk, unreleased gems - and the heartbreaking loss of the brilliant Karan Joseph aka Madfingers, whose absence is still felt deeply in the scene.

Maed to be India's first indie music podcast, but...

It wasn't just a podcast. It soon became a platform for musicians where they get to talk about their life, their music and perform too. The show has been running for 4 years with over 160 episodes released so far. Each episode showcases an artist/band with an interview as well as an exclusive stripped down session or acoustic renditions of their original music. The weekly show prides itself on being the destination for new music, little known stories, and unreleased music never heard before.

Now from one podcast, Maed in India is an audio consultancy and content creation agency.
