Sinclair — which previously demanded an apology and donations for Charlie Kirk’s family and company — announced it will instead preempt Kimmel’s show and replace it with news programming. Five days ago, Disney-ABC first announced the Kimml’s indefinite suspension over remarks he made about President Donald Trump mourning Charlie Kirk. The controversial Conservative commentator was fatally shot in the neck on September 10 at Utah Valley University.

Hours after the September 17 suspension, Sinclair said it would replace the show with a Charlie Kirk tribute, and further demanded an apology from Kimmel, urging him to donate to Kirk’s family and his company Turning Point USA. On September 19, Variety reported that Kimmel and Disney were working to bring his show back and earlier today (Monday, September 22), Disney announced the return. However, Sinclair stood on business, announcing it was still banning Kimmel.
