इक शायर से पूछ रही थी
रोज़ किनारे दोनों हाथ पकड़ कर मेरे
सीधी राह चलाते हैं
रोज़ ही तो मैं
नाव भर कर, पीठ पे लेकर
कितने लोग हैं पार उतार कर आती हूँ ।

रोज़ मेरे सीने पे लहरें
नाबालिग़ बच्चों के जैसे
कुछ-कुछ लिखी रहती हैं।

क्या ऐसा हो सकता है जब
कुछ भी न हो
कुछ भी नहीं...
और मैं अपनी तह से पीठ लगा के इक शब रुकी रहूँ
बस ठहरी रहूँ
और कुछ भी न हो !
जैसे कविता कह लेने के बाद पड़ी रह जाती है,
