Correction: NH₃ belongs to the C₃v point group, so calling it “asymmetrical” was incorrect. Thanks to everyone who pointed it out. 🙏

BF₃ vs NH₃ — Same concept, different polarity! 🧪
Both molecules look similar at first glance, but their molecular geometry and lone pairs make all the difference. BF₃ is non-polar because its bond dipoles cancel out, while NH₃ is polar due to the lone pair on nitrogen, giving a net dipole moment.
