رۆژانی 24-26/02/2025 رێكخراوی ئاران بۆ په‌ره‌پێدانی كلتوری مه‌ده‌نی به‌شداریی كۆنفراسێكی نێوده‌وڵه‌تی كرد له‌سه‌ر خۆنجاندن و كه‌مكردنه‌وه‌ی زیان له‌ پرسی گۆڕانی كه‌ش‌وهه‌وادا، كه‌ له‌شاری كۆڵۆمبۆی پایته‌ختی سریلانكا به‌رێوه‌چوو، كۆنفراسه‌كه‌ له‌لایه‌ن هاوپه‌یمانی توێژینه‌وه‌ی خۆگونجاندن به‌رێوه‌چوو، كه‌ رێكخراو و پسپۆرانی ژینگه‌ و ته‌ندروستی و خۆراك له‌ وڵاتانی باشوری گۆی زه‌وی ئه‌ندامن تیایدا و رێكخراوی ئارانیش ئه‌ندامی هاوپه‌یمانیه‌تیه‌كه‌یه‌.
به‌شداربووان بۆ ماوه‌ی سێ رۆژ گفتوگۆی چڕیان كرد له‌سه‌ر چۆنێتی خۆگونجاندن له‌گه‌لً گۆڕانكاریه‌كانی كه‌ش‌وهه‌واو رێگاكانی كه‌مكردنه‌وه‌ی زیان، هه‌روه‌ها ده‌رباره‌ی پلانی پاراستنی ته‌ندروستی و به‌رٍێوه‌بردنی سه‌رچاوه‌ ئاویه‌كان و دابینكردنی ئاسایشی خۆراك و دیاركردنی ئه‌ركی ده‌وڵه‌ت و رێكخراوه‌كان و لایه‌نه‌په‌یوه‌ندیداره‌كانی دیكه‌.
هه‌ر له‌و كۆنفراسه‌دا، هه‌ردوو رێكخراوی ئاران و ئیرۆ، كه‌ ته‌نیا دوو رێكخراوی به‌شداربوو بوون له‌سه‌ر ئاستی عێراق و هه‌رێمی كوردستان، ورده‌كاری گرفته‌ ژینگه‌یی و ته‌ندروستی و خوراكی و ئاویه‌كانی هه‌رێمی كوردستان و عێراقیان بۆ زیاتر له‌ بیست‌وپێنج پسپۆری نێوده‌وڵه‌تی بواره‌كه‌ خسته‌روو، كه‌ ئه‌وانیش زۆر به‌ وردی و به‌ شاره‌زایی و په‌رۆشه‌وه‌ به‌شدارییان كرد له‌وه‌ی چی باشه‌ بكرێت بۆ ئه‌وه‌ی له‌ هه‌رێمی كوردستان و عێراق خۆگونجاندن له‌گه‌ڵ گۆڕانكاریه‌كانی ژینگه‌دا بكرێت، چونكه‌ چاره‌سه‌ربوونی گرفتی ژینگه‌ كاتی زۆری ده‌وێت و ده‌بێت مرۆڤایه‌تی خۆی له‌گه‌ڵ ره‌وشه‌كه‌دا بگونجێنێت و هه‌وڵی كه‌مكردنه‌وه‌ی زیانه‌كان بدات.
هه‌ردوو رێكخراو به‌ هاوبه‌شی و له‌گه‌ڵ حكومه‌تی هه‌رێم و لایه‌نه‌ په‌یوه‌ندداره‌كانی دیكه‌ به‌رده‌وام ده‌بن له‌سه‌ر كاركردن له‌سه‌ر راسپاره‌دانی كۆنفراسه‌كه‌ به‌تایبه‌ت ئه‌وه‌ی تایبه‌ته‌ به‌ هه‌رێمی كوردستان.

لە پانێڵەکەدا بە وردی باس سەردەمی دیجیتاڵی و کاریگەریەکانی لەسەر راگەیاندن و مافەکانی مرۆڤ، ژیری دەستکرد و کاریگەری لەسەر راگەیاندن، کاریگەری میدیای نوێ لەسەر مافەکانی مرۆڤ و مافی بەدەستهێنانی زانیاری لە دیجیتاڵ میدیادا کرا.
کە ئامادە بوان گفتوگۆی چڕیان لە بارەی بابەتەکانەوە کرد، بەشی زۆری چالاکوانان و رۆژنامەنووسە دیارەکانی شاری چەمچەماڵ بەشدارییان لەو پانێڵەدا کرد.

لە کۆنفراسەکەدا بە وردی قسە لەسەر پرسی دەرمان و گرفیئ کەمیی دەرمان لە نەخۆشخانە حکومیەکان و مەترسی گۆڕینی جۆرێک لە دەرمان بۆ ماددەی هۆشبەر کرا.
لە کۆنفراسەکەدا زیاتر لە (25) پزیشک و چالاکوانی تەندروستی و ئەو چالاکوانانەی گرنگی بە کەرتی تەندروستی دەدەن بەشداربوون، ئەمە جەگە لە روماڵ کردنی لە لایەن کەناڵەکانی راگەیاندنەوە.

On December 8, 2024, a special conference was held by Aran Organization with support from National Endowment for Democracy (NED) in Sulaymaniyah, bringing together 33 participants, including parliamentarians, health officials, doctors, pharmacists, researchers, and activists.
The conference featured a distinguished panel of speakers:
• Dr. Omid Ali, Member of the Kurdistan Parliament
• Mazen Fria F***j, Head of the Pharmacy Warehouse in Sulaymaniyah Province
• Dr. Haider Adnan Karim, Head of the Pharmacy Warehouse Management System in Sulaymaniyah Province
• Dr. Hiwa Abbas Ahmad, Member of the Sulaymaniyah Branch of the Pharmacists Union of Kurdistan
• Dr. Yad Hamid, Pharmacist
• Dr. Tawana Mohammed Najm, Pharmacist
• Mr. A*o Amin, Researcher
The conference provided an in-depth discussion on critical issues, including the availability and shortage of medicines in public hospitals, and the risks associated with the misuse of certain medicines, particularly their potential conversion into illegal drugs.
In addition to the speakers, more than 25 doctors, health activists, and individuals with a vested interest in the health sector participated in the event. The conference also received extensive media coverage, highlighting the importance of the topics discussed.

Supporting Legal Services for Journalists: Aran Organization’s Achievements in 2023

Aran Organization for the Development of Civic Culture (AOCC) has always been at the forefront of supporting journalists in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Throughout 2023, we intensified our efforts, providing essential legal services and empowering journalists to defend their rights.
In 2023, AOCC made significant strides in our mission to protect and support journalists. Our legal support services reached 50 journalists across the Kurdistan Region, providing them with the knowledge and tools necessary to defend their rights in courts. These journalists, who often face threats and legal challenges, were equipped with the expertise to navigate the judicial system effectively.

Defending Journalists’ Rights in Court

Throughout the year, we organized several workshops and one-on-one consultations, focusing on legal defense strategies for journalists. Our team of legal experts guided journalists through the complexities of media laws, helping them understand their rights and the legal recourse available to them. By empowering journalists with this knowledge, we aim to foster a more robust and resilient media community in the region.

Empowering Women Journalists

Recognizing the unique challenges faced by women journalists, AOCC conducted specialized training sessions aimed at enhancing their safety and security both in the office and in the field. These sessions covered a range of topics, including risk assessment, self-protection techniques, and how to handle harassment and threats. Our goal is to ensure that women journalists can perform their duties with confidence and without fear, contributing to a more inclusive and secure media environment.

Developing a National Journalism Protection Guide

A significant milestone for AOCC in 2023 was our work on drafting a comprehensive National Journalism Protection Guide. This guide aims to establish clear protocols and best practices for the protection of journalists in Iraq. It addresses various aspects of journalists’ safety, from physical security measures to digital privacy protections. We are working closely with national stakeholders, media organizations, and legal experts to ensure that this guide serves as a vital resource for journalists nationwide.

As we move forward, AOCC remains committed to our mission of supporting and protecting journalists. The achievements of 2023 are a testament to our dedication and the hard work of our team. به‌پێی سیسته‌می نیمچه‌ تایبه‌ت كه‌ به‌ سیمی پرایڤد ناسراوه‌، خزمه‌تگوزاری ته‌ندروستی وه‌ك نه‌شته‌رگه‌ری و خزمه‌تكوزاری دیكه‌ له‌ نه‌خۆشخانه‌ حكومیه‌كان به‌ نیوه‌ی نرخی كه‌رتی تایبه‌ت پێشكه‌ش به‌ هاووڵاتیان ده‌كرێت، كه‌ به‌پێی رێنماییه‌كان ده‌بێت له‌ دوای كاتژمێر یه‌كی پاش نیوه‌رۆوه‌ بێت، ئه‌م سیسته‌مه‌ له‌ ساڵی 2014 وه‌ له‌ هه‌ریًمی كوردستان جێبه‌جێ ده‌كرێت.

Minister of Health Bans Semi-Private Services During Official Working Hours

Erbil, Kurdistan Region – The Minister of Health, Dr. Saman Barznjy, has officially prohibited the provision of semi-private services in all government hospitals across the Kurdistan Region during official working hours. The decision was made following a meeting with representatives from the Aran Organization.

The Aran Organization had advocated for this measure, highlighting the widespread violations of the existing regulations, which stipulate that semi-private services must only be provided after 1:00 PM, once official working hours have concluded. Many government hospitals were found to be disregarding these rules.

In response, the Minister of Health issued the following directives:

A general warning will be disseminated to all health directorates across the Kurdistan Region.
Semi-private services are strictly prohibited during official working hours.
All semi-private services must be provided after 1:00 PM.
Any hospital found violating this directive will have its director referred for investigation.
Hospitals are required to refund fees to individuals who paid for semi-private services provided during official working hours.
The Aran Organization, with support from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), continues to monitor the health sector in the Kurdistan Region to ensure compliance with this directive and to advocate for better healthcare standards.

MP Mwafaq Hussain Meets with Aran Organization to Address Key Issues in Kurdistan Region

Sulaymaniyah, Iraq – August 22, 2024 – Member of the Iraqi Parliament, Mr. Mwafaq Hussain, visited the office of Aran Organization on August 22, 2024, to discuss several critical issues affecting the Kurdistan Region. The meeting highlighted the health sector’s challenges, freedom of expression, youth rights, and the role of NGOs in the region.

During the meeting, Mr. Hussain and the staff of Aran Organization engaged in a detailed discussion on the current state of the health sector in the Kurdistan Region. The discussion focused on the Federal Ministry of Health’s responsibilities and the necessary support to address the ongoing challenges in the region’s healthcare system. Mr. Hussain commended Aran Organization’s efforts in compiling a comprehensive report on the health sector and decided to take immediate action by sending a formal letter to the Federal Ministry of Health. The letter will be accompanied by the survey report prepared by Aran Organization, urging the Ministry to provide the much-needed assistance to the Kurdistan Region’s health sector.

In addition to healthcare, the meeting also covered crucial topics such as freedom of expression in both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Mr. Hussain expressed his concern about the limitations faced by journalists and activists and emphasized the need for stronger protections to ensure their voices are heard.

The discussion further extended to the rights of youth in the Kurdistan Region. Mr. Hussain and the staff explored strategies to empower young people and encourage them to actively advocate for their rights. The role of NGOs in the region was another key topic, with both parties agreeing on the importance of enhancing the capacities of these organizations to better serve the community.

On July 31, 2024, the Aran Organization team met with the Head of the Department of Inspection and Follow-Up of the Private Sector at the Ministry of Health in the Kurdistan Region, D. Soran Omer Hama. The discussion focused on organizing the relationship between the public and private health sectors, preventing the employment of unqualified staff in beauty centers, enforcing health regulations on healthcare businesses, and preventing political interference in the health sector. Supported by the National Endowment for Democracy, the Aran Organization aims to enhance health democracy in the region.
