Woke up another year questionably wiser this morning. If you asked me what I would be doing at 33 ten or twenty years ago, I wouldn’t have pictured my life anything like it is today. I would have thought I was married and had kids. Today I woke up with everything I need. With my two corgis, the most geninuine best friends, and in my own home. Do I feel like I’ve been going through a quarter life crisis lately? Oh you have no idea but it keeps me ever growing. Here’s to another year of adventures, some old and some new 🍻 Headed to the spa today with the besties so of course I’m sharing a photo from my last nordic spa day!

The Rockwall part 2

I shared Floe Lake so thought it was time to finally share the other part of the Rockwall. We did the Rockwall starting at Helmet Falls and ending at Floe Lake. We spread out the 59 km through hike over 4 nights with a night at Helmet Falls, Tumbling Creek, Numa Creek, and Floe. You can do it in a shorter period but this gave us the most time to soak (literally) in the scenery and recover from all the elevation gains and losses 😅 Highly don’t recommend spraining your ankle on day 1 like I did! We also saw a mama grizzly on the trail!

🥾 59 km from Helmet Falls trailhead to Floe Lake trailhead (cars parked at both start and end)
⛰️ 2502 m elevation gain (keep in mind 2590 m elevation loss so it’s very up and down)

about last night…

Decided to pack up Winston, my camera, tripod, and popcorn last night and go for an evening drive. Spoiler alert… it was lit! Drove until I found clear skies and the aurora popped off again! Lately I’ve been feeling inspired and motivated to learn more about my camera and photography. Last night definitely helped spark that drive!

Skaha with the fam in October was unforgettable! We could’ve used a couple more days but it was everything I needed. Breathtaking views, fun climbs, cute babies, and good vibes. What more could I ask for? Oh yeah… no snakes 😅

Dog days of summer 🐾

The only camping trip with both boys on board and actually getting to unwind. Two Jack was the perfect spot for some refreshing frontcountry camping. Nothing beats cooking over a campfire, paddleboarding at sunset, and cracking open a book. Here’s to embracing the slow days ✨

Oh hi, it’s me again 😅 just another resurrection on my behalf

Moody mountains, moody weather, moody me. So far this summer, it’s been one cancelled trip and one trip we wished we cancelled from too much rain. We were only supposed to get a few mm of rain which turned into 24 mm in one day. But there’s no wildflowers without rain 🌸🌼

from start to finish for the hike into Havasupai campground

⏱️ Start time: 8 am (was only 20 degrees Celsius compared to our hike out which was 35; we set our alarms that day for 4 am to avoid the heat)

🥾 Distance: we clocked 17 km one way to get to our campsite which was towards the end of the campground

🏜️ Elevation: 754 m elevation gain on the hike out; only 21 km was gained on the way in as you descend into the Grand Canyon (poles highly recommended with your bags and for your knees)

Cassidy means curly hair or clever. We know clever is a given 😉 but I’m finally starting to embrace my curly hair. Most days it feels and looks just as wild as my personality. To all the curly girls, drop your tips in the comments! My hair is fine so can be very frizzy with my natural curls and too much product can make it greasy.
