‼️Call for Artists: GHORBAT‼️
Essere lontani da un luogo, da una persona, da una lingua.
Eppure continuare a portare tutto dentro di sé.
Ghorbat è quella distanza che rimane nel corpo anche quando il viaggio è finito. È nostalgia, sradicamento, memoria, trasformazione. È il sentirsi altrove e, allo stesso tempo, continuare a cercare un senso di appartenenza.
L’esilio può essere geografico, ma anche intimo, affettivo, familiare. Si può essere lontani da una casa, da una memoria, da una versione precedente di sé.
Con questa call invitiamo gli artistə a esplorare il significato di casa, distanza e appartenenza, attraverso opere che raccontino migrazione, memoria, perdita, radici, identità e trasformazione.
Cerchiamo opere capaci di abitare quella soglia in cui lontananza e appartenenza si incontrano.

To be far from a place, a person, a language.
And yet continue to carry it all within.
Ghorbat is the distance that remains in the body even after the journey is over. It is nostalgia, displacement, memory and transformation. It is the feeling of being elsewhere while still searching for a sense of belonging.
Exile can be geographical, but also intimate, emotional and personal. We can be exiled from a home, a memory, a language, or from a previous version of ourselves.
With this open call, we invite artists to explore the meaning of home, distance and belonging through works that reflect on migration, memory, loss, roots, identity and transformation.
We are looking for works capable of inhabiting that threshold where distance and belonging meet.
