Roma kaputt fusti.
Se Milano è stata la città che ha dato il via al green design e alla riforestazione urbana, Roma va in controtendenza, sostenendo che boschi verticali, pareti verdi e tetti giardino non siano altro che sostenibilità apparente, in altre parole greenwashing. Nasce così la deforestazione urbana, di cui il Mausoleo di Augusto è il primo progetto sperimentale. Eliminati i cipressi che da secoli ne ostruivano la vista, oggi finalmente l'edificio torna visibile in tutta la sua mastodontica potenza. Riportata al ruolo che le compete, l'architettura si impone quindi con vigorosa gagliardìa sulla natura barbara e selvaggia, tornando così ai fasti di un tempo che sembrava ormai dimenticato

If Milan was the city that pioneered green design and urban reforestation, Rome bucks the trend, arguing that vertical forests, green walls, and rooftop gardens are nothing more than superficial sustainability—in other words, greenwashing. This is how "urban deforestation" was born, of which Augustus Mausoleum is the first experimental project. The cypress trees that had obstructed the view for centuries have finally been removed, so the building is now visible again in all its colossal power. Restored to its rightful place, the architecture thus imposes itself with vigorous strength on the rude and wild nature, thus returning to the splendor of a time that seemed long forgotten.
