I knew I was going out after a 14 hour workday. I did not know I was about to end up in a quarry with what felt like twenty thousand people dancing until sunrise (and I really cannot complain, even though my body really wants to 😅!)

Puglia has an afterhours rave scene and I genuinely had no idea how alive it was until this weekend. Outdoor quarries turned into dance floors, DJs, lights, the Puglian sky / sunrise above you - it is a completely different side of a place most people only associate with trulli and olive oil and long lunches by the sea. (But IMO … I prefer the long seaside lunches side of Puglia because your girl is STILL recovering 😂)

not one to spill the beans 🫘

And I won’t lol but after a poopy c**a day the best way of getting through it (IMO) is just giving yourself some space and being grateful for what’s around you, wherever you are. And not to brag but living in Italy makes it pretty darn easy to do that 😅

Ya know whaddimean though?

(Also loling at the fact that my dad is going to wake up and see this before I had a chance to literally spill the beans - will call you soon! Love ya! )

Part 5 of my moving to Italy series and this one is different because there really is no right answer.

Making friends abroad is not a cookie cutter topic. It depends entirely on who you are, what you need, how you socialise, and honestly what version of friendship means something to you.

I’m sharing my experience and my tips but please note that what worked or didn’t work for me might not work or will work for you and that’s just how it is. We’re not all built the same.
