🇪🇺 Erasmus+ Job Shadowing in Chianciano Terme
European educational ecosystem in Tuscany 🇮🇹

🇪🇺 Erasmus+ Job Shadowing | Hospitality School

Mobility hosted by Associazione Network senza confini APS where Ana Pelegay Lacasta, teacher in the Hospitality and Tourism Department at IES Biello Aragón - Sabiñánigo, visited the Istituto Professionale di Stato per i Servizi per l’Enogastronomia e l’Ospitalità Alberghiera “Artusi” in Chianciano Terme 🇮🇹

The visit offered an important opportunity to connect vocational education systems between Italy and Spain, with a specific focus on hospitality, food and wine education, tourism reception and professional skills for the hospitality sector 🇪🇸

This exchange allowed us to reflect on how schools, local institutions and training centres can work together to strengthen European cooperation, support innovation in vocational education and create new opportunities for students and teachers.

🇪🇺 Erasmus+ Job Shadowing | Frantoio La Macina

As part of the Erasmus+ Job Shadowing Mobility of Ana Pelegay Lacasta, teacher in the Hospitality and Tourism Department at IES Biello Aragón - Sabiñánigo, Spain, today’s activity was dedicated to gastronomy, local food culture and sustainable tourism.

Hosted in Tuscany by Associazione Network senza confini APS, Ana visited Antico Frantoio La Macina, where she had the opportunity to observe olive oil production and reflect on the role of local agri-food entrepreneurship in promoting territorial products and rural tourism experiences.

The visit offered a concrete example of how traditional food production can become part of a meaningful tourism service: connecting local identity, quality products, hospitality, family entrepreneurship and sustainable development.

This learning experience is part of an Erasmus+ mobility promoted by the Spanish sending side, with the involvement of IES Biello Aragón - Sabiñánigo and CIFPA - Centro de Innovación para la Formación Profesional de Aragón and hosted in Italy by Associazione Network senza confini APS, in cooperation with local partners and stakeholders in Chianciano Terme and Southern Tuscany.

During the mobility, the programme involves several Italian local actors and places of learning, including Hotel Villa Gaia, Antico Frantoio La Macina, Terme Chianciano / Terme Theia, Parco Acquasanta, the Etruscan Museum of Chianciano Terme, Cantine Ercolani in Montepulciano and the professional exchange with Ducale Marmi A.D.

Together, these experiences connect vocational education with real businesses, local producers, cultural heritage, wellness tourism and sustainable territorial development.

We sincerely thank Antico Frantoio La Macina for the welcome and for sharing its experience with us.

🇪🇺 Erasmus+ Job Shadowing | Heritage, water and territorial identity in Chianciano Terme 🇮🇹 🇪🇸

As part of Ana Pelegay Lacasta’s Erasmus+ Job Shadowing Mobility in Chianciano Terme, hosted by Associazione Network senza confini APS, the day was also dedicated to cultural heritage, natural resources and the identity of the territory.

Reflection on Diaspro di Sicilia, a historic Italian marble, and on the cultural connections between Sicily, Rome and Tuscany. This dialogue allowed us to explore how traditional materials, religious architecture, craftsmanship and cultural heritage can become part of a wider educational path on territorial identity and sustainable development.

We then visited Parco Acquasanta, one of the symbolic places of Chianciano Terme, strongly connected to thermal waters, wellbeing and the history of the town. The visit offered an opportunity to reflect on water as a natural resource, a health-related element, and a key part of the local tourism ecosystem.

In the afternoon, the programme continued with a visit to the Etruscan Museum of Chianciano Terme, where Ana explored the ancient roots of the territory and the importance of cultural heritage in building meaningful tourism experiences.

The visit also opened a reflection on the deep relationship between the Etruscan civilisation and the natural world: water, earth, sacred landscapes, healing places and celestial cycles were all part of a symbolic universe in which nature was closely connected to spirituality and daily life.

Particular attention was given to the link between ancient Etruscan cults, the forces of nature and the lunar dimension, understood as part of a broader vision of time, fertility, transformation and harmony between human beings and the environment.

This job shadowing activity shows how vocational education in tourism and hospitality can be connected to real places, local stories, natural resources, ancient memory and sustainable territorial development.

🇪🇺 Erasmus+ Job Shadowing at Hotel Villa Gaia

Today, as part of the Erasmus+ Job Shadowing Mobility hosted by Associazione Network senza confini APS, Ana Pelegay Lacasta, teacher in the Hospitality and Tourism Department at IES Biello Aragón - Sabiñánigo, Spain, carried out an observation activity at Hotel Villa Gaia in Chianciano Terme.

The activity focused on the daily organisation of a small hospitality business: reception management, customer care, communication with guests, accommodation services and the role of local hotels in the tourism ecosystem of Chianciano Terme.

Together with the staff of Hotel Villa Gaia, we reflected on how hospitality is not only about accommodation, but also about welcoming people, sharing the identity of a territory and creating meaningful connections with local culture, wellbeing and sustainable tourism.

This experience offered a valuable link between vocational education and real professional practice, allowing Ana to collect ideas, examples and good practices that can be transferred to her teaching work in Spain.

We sincerely thank Hotel Villa Gaia for the warm welcome, the cooperation and the valuable contribution to this European learning experience.

🇪🇺 Welcome to Tuscany, Ana! 🇮🇹

Today we welcomed Ana Pelegay Lacasta, teacher in the Hospitality and Tourism Department at IES Biello Aragón – Sabiñánigo, Spain, for an Erasmus+ Job Shadowing Mobility hosted by Associazione Network senza confini APS.

During this week, Ana will take part in a professional observation and exchange programme focused on hospitality management, sustainable tourism, local gastronomy, thermal waters, wellbeing, cultural heritage and territorial development.

As part of her welcome kit, we gave her a publication by the Comune di Chianciano Terme dedicated to Luigi Antonio Paolozzi and to the ancient use of the mineral waters of Chianciano. It is a way to begin this mobility from the memory of the territory: its history, its cultural identity, and the deep connection between water, health, community and local development.

We are glad to accompany this European learning experience, connecting education, territory, local enterprises and international cooperation.

🇪🇺 Welcome to Network without borders, Ana! 🇮🇹
