Pope Leo XIV is heading to France.

From September 25–28, the Holy Father will make his Apostolic Journey to France under the motto: “That the world may have life” (cf. Jn 6:51).

His four-day journey will take him to Paris, Lourdes and Metz, with major moments including Vespers at Notre-Dame Cathedral, a youth vigil at the Stade de France, Mass in the heart of Paris, a pilgrimage to Lourdes and Mass at the Cathedral of Saint-Étienne in Metz.

The official logo evokes the rose windows of France’s Gothic cathedrals, with the Cross at its center and a dove carrying an olive branch — signs of Christ, the Holy Spirit and the peace at the heart of the Pope’s journey.

Tonight in Paris, 2,300 French youth gathered at Saint-Sulpice ahead of Pope Leo XIV’s arrival in France tomorrow.

The church was packed, the atmosphere was incredible, and it felt like the beginning of something very special, as thousands of French youth ended the evening in Eucharistic Adoration.

Tomorrow, the Pope arrives.

The Vatican says no to a “world religion” that would erase the differences between faiths.

Sixty years after the Second Vatican Council’s declaration Nostra Aetate, the Holy See has published a new Note aimed at renewing interreligious dialogue in a world marked by wars, divisions, fundamentalism, and violence committed even in the name of God.

The document calls for moving beyond what it describes as attitudes of “defense, hostility or conquest” and instead building coexistence based on fraternity, mutual respect, and religious freedom. But it also makes one crucial point clear: dialogue does not mean creating a universal religion that flattens differences or makes all faiths indistinguishable.

Each tradition is called to enter into dialogue while preserving its own identity. For the Catholic Church, this means continuing to bear witness to its faith without abandoning Christian convictions about salvation and the centrality of Jesus Christ, while working together with other believers for peace, justice, and the common good.

The Note also condemns fundamentalism, religious extremism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, discrimination, and persecution, and stresses the need to protect religious freedom for everyone, including Christian communities living as minorities.

Particular attention is also given to formation: seminaries, theological institutes, and pastoral institutions are encouraged to prepare new generations capable of authentic and informed dialogue rooted in their own faith.

Finally, the document reaffirms the special relationship between Christianity and Judaism, recalling the Jewish roots of the Christian faith and the indispensable value of Jewish-Christian dialogue for a deeper understanding of the Church’s own identity.

Dialogue, therefore, does not mean blurring differences. It means encountering one another without abandoning the truth of one’s own faith.
