Charlotte Smurfit has always been a Chanel (.beauty) girl. To her, Chanel Beauty is the epitome of femininity, and has been since she began playing with her mum’s make-up collection when she was little.

Working with Chanel Beauty is serendipitous for Smurfit. She’s gone from creating Picasso-esque make-up looks as a child to being a cover girl for the brand. “I have to pinch myself,” she tells us. “It’s such a full circle moment for me.”

For Finn Wolfhard, this year marks the beginning of a new chapter. As Stranger Things concludes, the actor, musician and filmmaker is stepping into a period of reinvention — one defined not by separation from the past, but by reintroducing himself on his own terms.

Fresh from his Met Gala debut, an upcoming North American tour and the release of his sophomore album, Fire From the Hip, Wolfhard is embracing a more personal era of creativity. “I think I’m entering a new chapter in my life,” he tells us.

While Fire From the Hip is his most intimate work to date, Wolfhard remains drawn to the idea of collaboration. “It’s important to remind myself that music is shared,” he says. “Making stuff with other people is shared, and it means something.”

From navigating life in the public eye to reflecting on the increasingly blurred line between performance and authenticity, Wolfhard approaches this next phase with curiosity, humour and a rare sense of perspective. “The only thing I can do is keep working with the people that I’m interested in working with, and hopefully learn something about myself in the process.”

On screen, he’s commanding fleets, crossing swords with pirates and crushing the odd skull. Off screen, he’s at home in London, cheerful and laidback, still flying under the radar despite starring in three seasons of one of the biggest shows on television.

The New Cross-hailing actor has spent decades building a career the old-school way: playing pub theatres in Kennington, sometimes with two people in the audience.

House of the Dragon has now made him a global name, but it’s the wig and the beard that have kept him anonymous. Toussaint is satisfied with that. There are a couple of things that irk him, though: the state of the industry for newcomers, and that he’s still not gotten to fly a dragon.

With season three of House of the Dragon now here, and bloodier than ever, Toussaint is back as Corlys Velaryon, still fighting, still standing and still waiting to scream ‘dracarys’.
