How lucky I was to start making music when everything was still recorded live or made with the legendary Roland TR-808, TR-909, and Akai samplers! 🥁
Then DVD sample packs arrived… and immediately the outrage began:
“Anyone who uses those isn’t a real producer.”
Yet The Prodigy and Daft Punk were sampling and flipping existing tracks to create their biggest hits — and they became legends partly because, back then, almost nobody knew. 😉
Now it’s AI’s turn… and right on cue, the same old criticisms are back.
I believe evolution in electronic music is completely natural — which is exactly why classical music will always remain pure magic.
The real point is this: creative control must stay in human hands.
In the end, the majors with their money and connections will still decide what becomes a hit.
True art will always belong to the few… while the mainstream will always be for the masses. 🎶🤖🥰
