Navigating worlds? Is that a question?

It’s a must! While I see this with POC across the board, I’m definitely speaking from personal experience.

✨

Recently I wore my hair down to a meeting. I was closing out a training series with a business, and so I showed up with my curls OUT.

the owner noticed immediately and said, “0h, I didn’t know your hair was curly.” To which I replied, “Well, the secrets out… l saved the best for last!” And we flowed right into the meetings agenda.

Managing my mindset kept me moving right through the noise. No fumbles.

I didn’t intend to spend my morning that way, but then…

✨

I opened IG & at the top of my feed was disheartening comments in a thread about Mixed folx, it said things like…

✨

They can’t identify as, they are this or that, we don’t accept them if they aren’t fully _ …

✨

I fell into reading it. I gave a way my energy… but just for a moment. And then I thought, “Is this what we are still talking about end of 2024?”

✨

I quickly wrote 10 things I was grateful for
Sent love & positivity to 3 ppl
And then I sat in silence for 5 min & then asked the Most High for guidance for the day

✨

And then I said, those aren’t my ppl. You see our ppl (yours & mine who EVER you are), are those who aren’t willing to debate your truth. They listen to understand, they support your decisions, and they accept how you identity. BC why not? It doesn’t affect them personally.

✨

All of that to say, I see you. I believe you. I support you. Whomever you are and how ever you identify. It’s your choice, not theirs. You are worthy of being YOU.

Your uniqueness is your value proposition.

I tried fitting in, and that took me 0UT.

✨

I wasn’t enjoying interactions, I felt confined, and was a horrible time.

✨

Why? Bc we were born to stand out.

✨

Loving how you talk, walk, think, look, express… that’s unique in itself. And imagine if you stopped doubting your unique identity, and you started owning it.

✨

Hey, before you go…

Did you work with those stories that are holding you back from you, today?

✨

We know ppl will trigger you. We know they may say things about you that you don’t agree with. We know, we know.
Ppl talk!
They spew utter ignorance even…

✨

And if you let their stories pe*****te your mind, you lose. If you take it in and internalize their opinions as if they are your own, they win.

✨

Replace their stories with your stories. And make sure the story you create empowers you and meets YOuR needs.

✨

Don’t let anyone live rent free in your beautiful mind. 💛

I could have stayed the victim…

With a childhood riddled with abandonment and on top of that dealing with the not enough-ness that comes with Mixed identity.

✨

I could have blamed my mother and my father for not being who I thought I needed.

✨

I could have, I could have, I could have…
AND that would’ve changed who I am today.
An imperfect perfect version of who I am & who I am becoming.

✨

Someone who defied stereotypes. Someone who didn’t follow the crowd. Someone who used their pain to fuel desire.

✨

You see, I desired to be in control of my journey. I desired to end my suffering. I desired to lead a life of passion & abundance. And I haven’t strayed from that.

✨

We only have the time we are gifted here on earth. None of us know when that time is up. Change starts with a seed of belief. And that seed must first be planted. You can change your world and the world around you, if of course you desire to.

✨

Plant the seed. 🌱

I heard that what we resist persists…

✨

What I learned is that without a clear direction of where I was headed I always ended up somewhere else. & It never fails.

✨

These last few years have been about solidifying the direction. Gathering a sense of knowing. Strengthening, if you will.

✨

It’s taken intimate conversations, self investment, coaching, car convos, reading, listening, claiming, boundaries, discipline, failure, starting again, and more, to gain clarity.

✨

We call that The Work. The work is the pathway to leadership. Because if you don’t tell the world who you are, it will always tell you who you are.

✨

Stand in your own belief.
Even when it takes work to get there.
Clarity is the answer.
