Early morning at the beach. A solitary dog Walker stands near the shore, crouching to take a photo whilst two dogs play nearby. A delivery boy wheels a trolly towards a beach bar, loaded high with crates of soft drink and water. A fishing boat is moored by the jetty, men are loading nets and tubs and an old man sits watching nearby. A loud sound breaks the quiet as a barman rolls up a metal grill and turns on a coffee machine. The sun rises higher, banishing the shadow across the beach and another day begins

We just got home after 4 days in Umbria. We stayed in a castle, found lots of waterfalls, ate great food and possibly climbed just as many steps as we would normally do here...sleeping in a castle tower involves very steep steps! The first video of our road trip is now up on YouTube!✨ 🇮🇹

Lilly has a sticky-out extra long fluffy bit (maybe just a beard) that grows so long in the winter that when she licks it it stays stuck on her tongue. Mostly I trim it to help her out but here it is in its full fluffy glory 😂 I had to post this calm green photo from lunch yesterday because I ventured down to the beach today and it was busy. People everywhere, restaurants full, and it all felt quite hectic after such a long quiet period 💚

Mayday was a washout! Although the air has become warmer in the last few days, it lightly rained all day today. But I’m looking forward to the warmer weather, ready for the winter clothes to be put away in the attic. Ready for bare shoulders and feet in the sand, floaty dresses and open windows. Boat days and beach evenings, Sandy pizzas and driving gelato. Bring it on summer! ✨
