Mi̱ pën ji̱ ni̱ën tok tharɛ ji̱n

The public was quiet for an entire month without discussing the controversial advisor to the Lou Nuer, L*l Ruai Koang, also known as Gatnyadiet. Your message was offensive, absurd, and beneath the dignity of the intelligent Lou Nuer community.

Your message misled many people and is unfounded. Where were you in 2014? Before you defected to the SSPDF, when the Lou Nuer white army was killed and defeated in all battles, you were the spokesperson for the SPLA-IO under Dr. Riek Machar, whom you criticized as a loser and a warmonger. Were the Lou Nuer who died during that time any less important than those you are now advising to abandon the SPLA-IO?

This might be the first time I have seen a trained military officer publicly addressing his community in such a manner. Every army represents the nation, not just one subsection like the Lou Nuer. General L*l Nyadiet, you have lowered your status from that of a national army officer to a local figure within Cie Longor in Akobo West, which is not even representative of greater Akobo (including Walgak and Bilkey) or the greater Lou Nuer (which comprises Uror, Nyirol, and Akobo). I had thought your silence indicated a recognition of your oppression concerning the aerial bombardments in Nasir and Fangak, as well as the critical situations in Central, Eastern, and Western Equatoria, Panyijar County in Unity State, and Bahr el Ghazal State carried out by the SSPDF and UDPF against civilians, resulting in deaths and destruction of shelters.

Instead, you seem oblivious to their suffering and the dangers they face. Now you come forward to tell the Lou Nuer community to remain neutral. Are you abandoning the SPLM/SSPDF to lead the Lou Nuer Independence State? Or will you continue as the SSPDF's spokesperson while advising the Lou Nuer to stay neutral, all while enjoying your beers and pizzas in Juba? What have you and your leader, General Salva Kiir Mayardit, done for the Lou Nuer community?

You need to understand your standing within the community. You are an insignificant and self-proclaimed advisor to the esteemed Lou Nuer community. Regarding your claims about Uror and Nyirol Counties, they are mere fabrications. There is no tension between the SPLA-IO and the Lou Nuer white army against the SSPDF, despite your recent assertions that the SPLA-IO is coordinating with the white army to attack the SSPDF in Yuai and Waat, while isolating Rt Hon. Nathaniel Pierino Oyet, the Acting Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the SPLM/SPLA-IO, as an Equatorian who would supposedly not be supported by the Lou Nuer community.

What does General Salva Kiir Mayardit represent in this community? Does he even have a genuine connection with the Lou Nuer? The Lou Nuer community cannot afford to abandon other South Sudanese and stand neutral, especially when other Nuer communities are suffering daily at the hands of the national army (SSPDF). Do you believe the calmness in the Lou Nuer land is an act of betrayal, selfishness, or egotism? We have achieved peace by choice, while other conflicts weigh down the Lou Nuer community.

The Lou Nuer have always been the backbone of the Nuer tribe and South Sudan, and we cannot remain indifferent to the suffering of our own people in places like Fangak and Nasir. If conflict arises between the SSPDF and the Lou Nuer, we will not turn a blind eye or bow our heads; we will not allow ourselves to be provoked without cause. Do you have any real support within the Lou Nuer community? Have you ever visited Akobo County? Since your defection, you need to engage with our people face-to-face instead of relying on radio or television, as many Lou Nuer people do not use these media. Your message seems to originate from a coordinated nightclub group chat meant to appease your master (SKM), but no one will accept your baseless advice.

Dinka, You Don’t Even Notice

Have you, the Dinka, ever stopped to ask why the rest of the tribes are silent? Why they no longer argue, no longer form national groups, no longer even bother to care what happens in South Sudan?

It is because they don’t feel this country is theirs anymore. They gave their lives, their grains, their land, and their children to the liberation struggle. But when independence came, you took the state, the army, the money, and kept it for yourselves. Everyone else was pushed aside.

Now the rest of the tribes have withdrawn. They don’t confront, they don’t complain, they don’t even try — because you co-opted people among them and made them feel like Dinka. Not because they are weak, but because they know nothing will change, so they have to go along with the program. You don’t listen, and you don’t care.

When they are silent, it’s not because they agree with you. It’s because they know that as much as you claim it’s the government, in reality it’s you, the Dinka. Because the truth is, without tribal loyalty, even one clan could drive this government out in a day. They have let go of the idea of a shared nation. And you, the Dinka, are too busy fighting over positions and resources among yourselves to even notice.

A country cannot survive this way. No tribe, no matter how big, can carry a nation alone. You may think you are ruling South Sudan, but in truth, you are presiding over an empty shell — a state where most of the people have already checked out.

Kiir’s Art of Staying in Power

President Salva Kiir has ruled not by building strong institutions, but by playing people and groups against each other. His method is to take one person, one community, or one faction of the army and lift them so high that they overshadow everyone else. He makes them powerful, gives them money, positions, and direct access to him. For a while, they appear untouchable.

But their rise is never the end of the story. Once Kiir decides they have served their purpose or grown too strong, he begins to cut them down. Individuals he once trusted are sidelined or disgraced. Whole communities that enjoyed favor are suddenly abandoned. Armed factions that were once his shield are dismantled or merged into irrelevance. Political and intelligence figures who thought they were indispensable are replaced overnight. Even tribal elements or personal allies are used and then discarded if they stand in the way of his struggle with a rival.

This pattern has repeated itself for years. No one remains on top for long, because Kiir never allows power to rest in one place. He raises people, he uses them, and when their time has passed, he breaks them down and finds others to replace them. The cycle keeps everyone guessing, keeps rivals weak, and ensures that no single person or group becomes strong enough to challenge him.

That is how he has survived—by making and unmaking leaders, by rewarding and then abandoning communities, by constantly shifting alliances inside the army, the intelligence services, and the political class. The cost is that South Sudan has remained a country without stable institutions, held together only by a ruler who survives through constant rotation and destruction.

This week I kept asking: what exactly are we celebrating after 14 years of independence? Most people said, “the flag.” But as George Carlin once said, flags are just symbols—and symbols are for the weak-minded. We should celebrate services that actually improve lives. A flag can’t educate you, can’t treat you when you’re sick, and you certainly can’t eat it. The truth is, those in power don’t celebrate the flag—you do. Because you’re stupid! Period!

In our long and painful journey for justice and freedom, some of the deepest wounds have not come from foreign hands or declared enemies—but from voices within our own community. These are not whispers from across the border; they are declarations from those who bear our names, share our heritage, and walk among us.

1. 𝐆𝐞𝐧. 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐚𝐢: “Riek and every Nuer who stands against Kiir deserves to die.”
2. 𝐄𝐳𝐞𝐤𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐋𝐨𝐥 𝐆𝐚𝐭𝐤𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐡: “Nuer are criminals.”
3. 𝐂𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐡: “Nuer are the ones who declared war against the Dinka.”
4. 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐡 𝐍𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐡: “Nuer are fools.”
5. 𝐑𝐢𝐞𝐤 𝐊𝐨𝐤 𝐆𝐚𝐢: “Kiir must lead, or else you die.”
6. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐚𝐲: “I will grind you to dust.”
7. 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐢: “Even if all of you die, I won’t follow — because you deserve it.”
8. 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐢𝐞𝐤 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐠: “Riek is Riek. I’m for Salva.”
9. 𝐃𝐚𝐤 𝐃𝐮𝐨𝐩: “Any son of Gajaak who refuses Kiir’s government will live a bitter life.”
10. 𝐋𝐮𝐥 𝐑𝐮𝐚𝐢 𝐊𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐠: “Nuer are terrorists.”

These statements are not mere political disagreements—they are loaded with the power to demonize, to divide, and to destroy. They serve as rhetorical bullets, aimed at the heart of our collective struggle.

To speak so recklessly, with so much pride and disdain, while our people bleed and die—is not just political betrayal, but a moral one. These words have echoed in the chambers of killers. They have been used to justify the shedding of innocent blood and to erase the truth behind our resistance.

But let it be known: history listens. It remembers. And when the dust settles—as it surely will—those who chose to side with oppression against their own will not be forgotten.

We do not seek revenge. We seek justice. We seek truth. We seek accountability.

Let this be a warning and a reminder: loyalty to one’s people is not optional in times of crisis. Betrayal is not just a lapse in

Breaking News: Formation of the White Army of Fangak and Naath Defense forces of Nasir, Ulang counties,
Have reached and agreement signed today:

In a significant development, over 120,000 members of the White Army and Naath Defense force have mobilized in response to ongoing tensions in Upper Nile State South Sudan. Key commanders from the Naath Defense Forces representing Fangak, Ayod, Ulang, and Nasir counties have signed a critical agreement, declaring their intention to advance into areas controlled by the SSPDF (South Sudan People's Defense Forces), Abushok and Agwelek. This proactive move comes in light of perceived threats from the UPDF (Ugandan People's Defense Forces), Agwelek, and Abushok militias, which have reportedly been targeting civilians in the Ulang and Nasir counties.

The commanders expressed a strong stance against SPLM/ regime—led by Salva Kiir. Stating that their loyalty lies not with established political players, but with protecting their communities from external aggressors. They condemned the actions of mercenary groups that have inflicted suffering on local populations, causing displacement and loss of life, particularly among children and women.

The coalition's rallying cry resonates with a fierce determination: "War! War! War!" This slogan underscores their resolve to confront Dinka and Shilluk militia groups, whom they accuse of perpetuating violence and instability in the region.

As this situation unfolds, humanitarian concerns grow over the potential escalation of conflict and its impact on civilian populations. Observers are closely monitoring developments as the White Army mobilizes, which could significantly alter the dynamics of the ongoing conflict in South Sudan or greater Upper Nile state.

"Remember this Kenyan 🇰🇪 runner Abel Mutai who was just a few feet from the finish line, but became confused with the signage and stopped, thinking he had completed the race. A Spanish runner, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him and, realizing what was happening, started shouting at the Kenyan to continue running. Mutai didn't know Spanish and didn't understand. Realizing what was taking place, Fernandez pushed Mutai to victory.

A journalist asked Ivan, "Why did you do that?" Ivan replied, "My dream is that someday we can have a kind of community life where we push and help each other to win."The journalist insisted, "But why did you let the Kenyan win?" Ivan replied, "I didn't let him win, he was going to win. The race was his." The journalist insisted again, "But you could have won!" Ivan looked at him and replied, "But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honor in that medal? What would my mother think of that?"

Values are passed on from generation to generation. What values are we teaching our children? Let us not teach our kids the wrong ways and means to win. Instead, let us pass on the beauty and humanity of a helping hand. Because honesty and ethics are winning!"
