Ladies and Gentlemen...𝙑𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚 𝙅𝙪𝙣𝙚!

Valerie is a Grammy-nominated artist from Jackson, Tennessee. 𝘿𝙖𝙣 𝘼𝙪𝙚𝙧𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙝 of 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙆𝙚𝙮𝙨 produced her debut album and when 𝘽𝙤𝙗 𝘿𝙮𝙡𝙖𝙣 was asked what artists he listened to and respected, June was among the artists he mentioned in reply. She shared the stage and worked with 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨, 𝙉𝙚𝙞𝙡 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜, 𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙧 𝙏. 𝙅𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨, 𝙂𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝘾𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙠 𝙅𝙧. and 𝙉𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙝 𝙅𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨.

This is The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band song for iconic Star Trek actor LeVar Burton. The song is called "Are You Gonna Rise (for Levar)".

When we mixed this old fashioned piece -in the style of Guthrie and Seeger- on our Trident desk we immediately fell again into that genuine Americana vibe we met during our music tours in Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, and, last but not least, Mississippi -where it all began.

Reverend also painted the image for the artwork. The song it's been inspired by a Podsongs episode featuring Levar Burton and Reverend Peyton and it's now available on all streaming services.
