For Giuliano Guerrini, agronomist at ColleMassari W**e Estates, Montecucco was once almost a missing piece on Tuscany’s map. 🍇🗺️

Positioned between better-known areas such as Bolgheri and Montalcino, the DOC gradually built a stronger identity, with ColleMassari helping give it a clear imprint and greater visibility. 🌿📍

That’s only part of the story. 👀

Our journey with ColleMassari didn’t end with the last video. 🍇

In our new YouTube video, Stevie Kim sits down with Giuliano Guerrini, Agronomist at ColleMassari W**e Estates, to look at Montecucco from the perspective of someone who has worked in the territory for 27 years.

Their conversation moves through the evolution of Montecucco DOC, ColleMassari’s 1,300 hectares, the choice of 100% organic viticulture and the role technology now plays in the vineyards. 🌿

There’s also Poggio Lombrone, 104 biotypes of wild grapevine, and one idea that captures the character of the territory particularly well: Montecucco as the “wild side” of great Tuscan Sangiovese.

What does that really mean after 27 years working in this territory?

A new video is now on YouTube! 🚨

This time, we head to ColleMassari W**e Estates in Montecucco for a story that goes far beyond the estate itself.

Giuseppe Di Gioia, Chief Executive Officer at ColleMassari, together with Agronomist Giuliano Guerrini and W**emaker Giovanni Puccioni, takes us through the vision behind ColleMassari, the story of Poggio Lombrone and its century-old Sangiovese, and an approach built around giving value to every single vineyard.

A story of deep roots, long-term vision and a territory that has grown together with ColleMassari.

A final takeaway to bring the whole series together... TAKEAWAY #3 is about what makes a place truly suited to a vine? And what makes a vine truly belong to that place?

For Richard Hough, the answer comes down to two words: Vocation and Autochthony — the two guiding words of our entire journey through Professor Attilio Scienza’s book.

Takeaway number 2 is here: the spread of vines outside their place of origin

In the second takeaway from Richard Hough, we look at that topic: a journey shaped by people, movement and the exchange of cultures.

Another fascinating thread from Professor Attilio Scienza’s book, brought to life in our series. 🍷
