Riding into the interior of San Vicente to distribute much needed water and rice.

Our Life Basket team was present in San Vicente, Tabogon, a region heavily affected by the recent 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck the northern part of Cebu province in the Philippines. The quake originated from a shallow depth, increasing its destructive impact. The municipality of Tabogon where San Vicente is located is in predominantly hilly and mountainous area which figured significantly in the decision to do the outreach there because most other donations usually wind up in the places more accessible to the roads. As you will see in a video, the ascent of the truck carrying rice and water for the 300 families was a hurdle in and of itself. During the distribution, aftershocks were felt and it started to pour prompting the Municipality to issue a Landslide Alert.

The LIFE BASKET team enroute to Borbon and Tabogon, two towns in Northern Cebu that were devastated by the 6.9 earthquake.

Two separate distributions of rice and water will be made in the town of Clavera, Borbon and San Vicente, Tabogon.

Let us continue praying for the safety of the residents of these affected areas especially since aftershocks continue and there are over 7000 rexorded so far.
