Fun, but tiring hike up Flattop Mountain yesterday in Rocky Mountain National Park. Multiple layer changes as we headed up and down in elevation. Packed snowshoes and used them on and off. I snowshoed up to 11,000 ft, the highest I've ever done on snowshoes... Once we hiked above treeline, the wind gusts proved too strong, and we retreated. It was a great day, a great adventure, and we came across some ptarmigan in their winter white plumage. What a treat!
