Dear Women,
As we celebrate Women's History Month, it's a time to reflect on our journey, our strength, and the path we pave for the future. It's also a moment to acknowledge the realities we face every day and to remind ourselves of the power we hold within to navigate through them.
Financial Independence: Remember, your ability to pay your bills is a testament to your independence and strength. It's more than just numbers in a bank account; it's a statement of your capability to stand on your own.
Promises and Practicality: Understandably, we cannot fuel our lives on broken promises or run our engines on empty words. It's crucial to surround ourselves with those who offer not just words, but actions that uplift and support our journeys.
Choices and Consequences: Leisure and love, like Netflix and chill, might seem enticing, but every choice carries its weight in consequences. It's essential to navigate our relationships with wisdom and foresight, recognizing the potential long-term impacts of our actions.
Spiritual Submission: True submission isn't about losing ourselves but finding our strength through faith. When we, and our partners, first submit to God, it creates a foundation of mutual respect, love, and understanding that transcends earthly challenges.
Communication and Respect: Communication is the lifeblood of any relationship. Giving your full attention signifies respect and value for the other person. It's not just about hearing, but actively listening and engaging with what's being shared.
Emotional Intelligence: Lastly, how we respond in our interactions speaks volumes. A dismissive "yeah, alright" can be as harmful as neglect. Recognizing and validating feelings is not just considerate; it's a form of emotional support that everyone deserves.
As we celebrate this month and beyond, let's embrace these truths not just as challenges, but as opportunities to grow, to strengthen our bonds, and to affirm our worth. Here's to celebrating every woman's independence, resilience, and enduring spirit.
As we navigate our journey with resilience and grace, let us also pledge to lift each other up, to support one another in our quests for independence, respect, and understanding. This Women's History Month, I encourage you to reach out to the women in your lifeโmothers, daughters, sisters, friends, and colleagues. Share your stories of strength, offer a listening ear, or simply remind them of their worth. Together, let's commit to fostering environments where women are respected, valued, and empowered to thrive.
Let us also actively participate in community initiatives aimed at supporting women's rights and well-being. Whether it's through mentoring, volunteering, or advocating for policies that protect and uplift women, every action counts. Your voice, your actions, and your support can make a profound difference.
Join me in making this Women's History Month not just a celebration of past achievements, but a stepping stone towards a future where every woman can proudly say she feels seen, heard, and supported. Let's make history, today and every day, by being the change we wish to see.
With hope and determination,
Felicia Janell
