The embattled mayor of Pemberton Township, Jack Tompkins, has publicly admitted that he met with a townhouse developer following their having submitted an application to the Pemberton Township Planning Board, on which he serves.

However, the mayor claimed he had been “unaware” at the time “that they had an application in,” maintaining it was submitted “when I was on vacation,” and pointed to it being in the process of being withdrawn, which it was the night following the mayor’s admission.
