Dr Pratik Joshi had been living in London for the past six years, quietly nurturing a dream of a better future for his wife and their three young children, who remained back in India.
After years of patience, countless sacrifices, arduous paperwork and immense hope, that dream was finally within reach. Just two days ago, his wife, Dr Komi Vyas, a devoted medical professional, made the difficult decision to leave her own career in India. The bags were packed, heartfelt goodbyes exchanged, and the future seemed full of promise.
This morning, all five of them, Dr Pratik Joshi, Dr Komi Vyas and their children, boarded Air India flight 171 to London. They clicked a selfie, a snapshot meant to celebrate their new beginning, and shared it with their relatives, a moment filled with happiness, hope and plans for a life together in a new country.
But that future was stolen from them in an instant. The plane crashed, and none of them survived.
In a matter of moments, a lifetime of plans turned to ashes. It stands as a painful reminder that life hangs by the most fragile of threads. All the things we care for, all the people we love, all our ambitions, can be gone without warning. So while you still can, hold your children close, appreciate every moment and let your love be known today, for there might be no tomorrow.
