But how is it actually made?
It's a fascinating process that combines biology and food science to create real meat, just more sustainably. Here’s the simple version:
We start with a small sample of animal cells (the animal is unharmed!) and place them in a cultivator. We then feed them a nutrient-rich, plant-based "growth medium" that contains all the proteins, vitamins, and minerals they need to thrive.
Over a few weeks, these cells grow and mature into real muscle and fat—the same components of the meat we eat today. The result is pure, clean meat without the need for traditional farming.
The biggest challenge has always been cost, but thanks to massive innovation (especially in creating affordable, plant-based 'food' for the cells), we are getting closer to price parity every day.
